Yeah I had my secondhand Deus for 9 months and sold it for only 75 Euro less than I bought it for, never sold anything on Ebay that attracted so much interest. These days I see little reason to pay big money for a detector when there are so many excellent
East European detectors.

Yes the 10.5 MF coil could match my Explorer 2 on depth for most finds apart from the very small hammered coins we get over here, for them I'd put on the 10.5 inch 18.75Khz coil.

Hey detectingMO good info, my 10.5 inch HF Minelab coil just went faulty after 8 years of heavy use, I'm looking for a replacement and maybe these Mars coils are the way to go, I've seem some vids on the mars channel that suggest recovery speed is also better as well as depth, what do you think?

Here's an extract from the manual about "Discrimination depth"......interesting
"Setting the discrimination depth (Disc. Depth)
The Discrimination Depth setting is something different from the usual discrimination you see on some other brands and models. 0n the Golden Mask 5+ this setting controls the
depth the detector discriminates targets at. The lower th

I can take a hint Keith, an advance in unmasking perhaps?......or a discriminating PI

Certain countries in eastern Europe don't get along and say negative things about each other, I'm sure this could never happen between citizens of the USA!
I will look forward to Ziggy's unbiased review of the Alter71.

That's the 9 inch concentric Keith, the stock coil is an 11 inch DD

Keith can you give your opinion on how the X-Terra stacks up against the latest machines on depth, mostly good ground, thanks for all your posts and vids! James

I must of dug a hundred of these one euro coins and they are as easy to detect as their size and mid range conductivity would suggest...no special properties.

I think the nailboard tests are a legitimate indicator of a detectors ability to find non ferrous targets next to iron, the proof is very simply that the detectors that are good at passing the test are also the ones that turn out to be good in real world hunting in iron and the ones that are terrible at passing the test......yup they are terrible at hunting in iron....have there been any exceptio

I had the Quattro for a year, it was the worst Minelab I ever used inland, yes it is deep on medium to large finds but terrible on small finds at any depth. As far as unmasking well it has no ability at all due to its unbelievably slow recovery sp

I think some guys over here in Europe will try this machine on ploughed land for the tiny ancient coins we get here, I detect on pasture and woodland so judging by the airtests it would struggle there so the Gold plus or racer would suit me more I think. Still it might produce finds from a worked out site and will be interesting to see how it does in a real world hunt. Thanks for the video Keith!

Keith how does it compare to the Gold plus for unmasking and the big question considering it is a 56Khz machine is how is the depth in low ,medium and high conductors?
Looking forward to the video!

Nice one Ringmoney, here are a lot of air test videos including a U.S cent coin
Bye the way I just read that Detech make the Etrac stock coil for Minelab...didn't know that!
Looks very similar to Goldenmask 5 with telescopic stem
Think I'd go for the Chaser with 13 inch Ultimate coil at 790 Euro...that should be deep.

100% agree with this, for me the Deus is not really a proper 4 frequency detector, very little difference when switching frequencies, I just left it on 18

yes just like what you did on the f75 vids, in your bad soil I might just use prospecting mode and not bother with the normal detecting mode as the id would be totally unreliable.
