three options!:
1)..get an indian "medicine" man to do a rain dance!
2)..pray!
3).pay the national weather service to "seed" the clouds with silver iodide!
personally,i like the second option!..hope it rains soon!

i am just curious!..what was the "depth" of those "deep" signals the se was hitting?..both the 70 and the 75 are "deep" detectors, and should hear everything the explorer "sees!"..if "set" peroperly of course to INCLUDE proper ground balancing for the site hunted!

wingnut!..i would also be very interested in any comparison testing between the two!..you can "take it to the bank" that they had the 75 on a test bench the first day it was "released!"

hi tom!
i agree!..gladly pay a premium for a f-75 d.v.d!..if possible to put one together
much to learn..in my opinion,an informative, educational video on the f-75,would trump anything first texas could offer!..just my opinion!

thanks tom!..i have the 6" coil, however have not used it yet!..now that the 5" dd is available,my curiosity is getting the better of me!..if you acquire one, would be very interested in a comparison test!

tom!
was just wondering if you use your 6" coil on the f-75 a lot when you go park hunting,or do you generally stay with the standard dd coil for those conditions?
also do you plan on acquiring the new 5" dd coil?...thanks!

hi tom!
on that note!.. i KNOW you are literally 'chomping at the bit" to compare the f-75 and whitey's new vision!..IF you are presented with this oppertunity,we all know we will be the recipients of a "first class" comparison!.

i for one am extremely pleased with your totally un-biased approach to the hobby.
those of us with many years of field experience certainly appreciate your input on equipment, and coin hunting!..an engineer who is passionate for the hunt as we all are, with NO factory tie-in!..what's NOT to like?

hi tom!
yes!..if at all possible, would love to be a 'fly" on the wall, and be present at that second seminar!..unfortunately,travel restrictions kepp me "out of the loop" so to speak!..perhaps if possible, consideration could be given to a permanent
audio and video?..in any event.hope it goes as planned!.

gonna take a stab at it!..float the thought that the bottle cap is "round!"..the
"mass" is approximately the size of a quarter, and regardless of target mettalic
"composition",the 'dd" coil is smart, however apparently NOT that smart, and will indicate a coin v.d.i,and corresponding non-ferrous tone.

i was "torn" for a while, and finally decided in favor of the f-75, figuring i have plenty of time to learn it well as i am retired now,,and only work part time which frees up more time to detect...have hunted only a few times, and only for short duration hunts at that,so i have some catching up to do!..hope to begin remedying that situation come spring time!

hi tom!
can it be assumed then,(in your experience.)that the f-75 platform is a "superior" instrument to a properly tuned cz-3d?...thanks!

actually i was referring to the fact i have no dealers within driving distance to go head to head, however as you say it IS a crap shoot regardless anyway!..it is a great little coil though, and people have used them for years in the junk with excellent results!

hi tom!
yes!..common sense would indicate that your recomendation "has" to be the "only" answer, however "trying different 5" coils is NOT a practical consideration,so i believe the only recourse would be just to purchase one "used",and hope i get one that will id as close to the 8" coil as possible!.
thanks!

in addendum!..the 5" coil may be the only "tool" to use in a very trashy environment,so IF the id cannot be relied on in such an environement especially in the "advanced" mode, then wouldn't this "drawback" render the cz-3d ineffective?..with so MANY "old" areas demanding an instrument be able to "look" between items of "junk"to

hi tom!
thanks for the clarification!..do you think that the 5" coil is STILL a practical application for a cz-3d in trashier areas in spite of its' varying id capabilities?..my thinking is that IF the id accuracy is compromised somewhat by using the 5"coil on the cz-3d,then the "advanced" mode concept with respect to the 5"coils "usefulness" is neutrali

hi tom!
i have a question in regard to the "hockey puck" 5" coil!..i am curious about what you stated in regard to the mis matched impedance issue...are you implying that the 5" coil will give inaccurate id on coins in the "advanced" mode?..and the only true id accuracy is acheived while using the stock 8" coil?..thanks!!

hi tom!
thanks for the very considerate offer!..i have the "proper" depth parameters right here on site,so if i decide to commit,i can use your information to check for proper depth!..may wait to determine if (f.t.p.) offers some kind of promotion for the xmas rush!

will have to be purchased from a mail order dealer as i have no dealers around here!..if i gamble and get one, will you calibrate it for me?..it will be worth it for me!..i intend to use it as a back-up to my f-75,or maybe even a first unit!..thanks for your consideration!

hi tom!
i have a question!..if i go after a "new" cz-3d from (f.t.p),do you think it will meet the "operating standards" that you originally designed into it?..what do you really think?..do they have their act together in regards to this now?

hi tom!
very true!..in trash one must "slow" down to maximize the detector's ability to "separate" adjacent targets!..in your experience does this also apply to the f-75?..i have very limited experience with mine, however i have read "tons" of posts indicating that one can sweep quickly even in high trash with excellent results with the standard 11" coil,a

hi tom!
in your experience, can i "get away" with a "moderate" sweep speed, and NOT lose depth?..i have a tendency to sweep rather quickly!..that is good news on the quality of the detector!..5 years is a long time!
