Rick you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. So TNSS deserved a public dressing down? No hoopla? You are the Hoopla master.
What is with all the bickering and backstabbing on this forum. Might as well call it Treasure Dump Florida edition.

Some of the lakes around here are exactly as you described with multitudes of small low conductors. The one I was at yesterday had me stopping every few feet with hits showing as high as 8 on the TID that were impossible to recover. That's not good when needing to cover a lot of area for the fresh drops and more valuable larger gold rings. Switching to Park 1 pretty much solved th

Several iterations of Pulse Induction machines are in the works. As did Minelab with their new Equinox detectors Fisher realized several years ago that multi-freq is the future so they are working on replacements for your CZ as well.

Anyone that's ever been to Traverse City know it's one of the biggest foodie towns in Michigan, but I'm no foodie and never been to any of those places. I'll drive on occasion for Chinese or Asian, but give me a good Bar Burger and beer and I'm happy.

Laurel for me no matter the change in pitch. Had my ears tested a while back and found out that the old ear drums have lost a lot of flexibility. The graph showed a response that barely registered into the normal range.
Fortunately most detectors let me here the high tones around 700 Hz very well.

A $20 in a pile of wind blown leaves and $80 in the ATM of the local convenience store which I did turn in since they have security cameras and could find the owner.

I used 2 coats of black RTV gasket material on the ID Edge 8" coil and it has held up for 2 years wading. Also used it to waterproof the connector on a coiltek cable extension for the X-T 705 over wrapped with self fusing sili

The Equinox tones suit my old ears well since I have a substantial drop off in hearing starting below 1K. It allows me to set a comfortable level without fear of loosing the fainter "high" tones.

I for one agree completely with what you wrote. The odds of finding something with any value are too remote to be worth the effort. I do hope the Nox is better on the fine gold chains, but since I hunt freshwater with high gain single frequency machines it needs to bring something different to the table.

That would be a bit of a drive for me as I'm further north up between TC and Charlevoix.
My story is about an old football field located in a nearby town. While driving by one day I noticed a bunch of heavy equipment in there that was just starting to get to work. Well of course I pulled in to check it out. Since the field was no longer in use having been replaced with a new one in t

Hi Keith
I never found the Musky to be all that great at unmasking the mid conductors. Fine on the large copper and silver coins but below IH penny pretty poor. One time I re-hunted an old abandoned house with the ID Edge that the Musky had been thru and pulled deep brass out everywhere behind it. Not a good fresh water hunter at all.
You had mentioned something once about he 1270 that I

Yes that was me and glad it worked out. I edited my post above to include my water hunting experience with it. Oh how I begged Fisher to make it waterproof, but at the time they felt the market was too small. Boy could they have had the AT market that Garrett tied up with their series of machines. LOL

I wonder how many are still using the 1270? I personally found it to be one of the best all around detectors for my hunting needs. If it had been packaged better IMO it would have been a top seller.

Agree completely, analog audio with its subtle clues is hard to beat. Combined with good iron disc machines such as the LST, 1270 and even the little 1236 to name just a few are still viable today.
