I had one but got rid of it already. I did not like how the modulation worked or should I say didn't work. I know this point was brought up to whites but their answer was it don't work good in low mineralized soil. Really? The modulation on my CZ sure seems to work good in my soil.
Any other comments for White's? Yes, I think you need to get some more (different) testers. I

Quotewith some comments on the "Proper" units
To me a proper one would be to have the modulation issue fixed, the double beep issue on shallow targets with the modulation turned on fixed. Also get it to recover faster and maybe shorten up the tones.

Hopefully more guys who sent them in will give us an update when they get theirs back. I see Carolina Coin hunters review is for one that whites let him try. I am sure he is a good guy but I get leery of reports where a person was given a detector to promote.....

QuoteThey had the Golden uMax as multi tone beep and dig, somehow they lost the technology/coding to make them. Never understood that.
I think they had the right idea on the Golden but it just had no depth. If they would put tones on the Vaquero that would be better. Tones like on the CZ3D.....;o)

I know that Kenny (khouse) had previously contacted them and made them aware of the problems but I don't believe they were going to do anything about it. They just gave him the typical BS answer. He can elaborate more if he wants. I also suggested that they needed to find some more hardcore testers but of course they said they already had some. Really? How did the MX Sport ever make it to ma

What really makes me mad is at the 6:24 mark one of the kids said we really shouldn't do this in a park. The other one said, "I dont care". That video was posted on the 11th. I bet the no metal detecting signs are up by now.

Here is an idea that may work pretty good looking for coins among the trash.
Mode - 3 tone
Gain - Where detector is stable
ID Filter - 24
Iron audio - 10
Tone break - 32 and 60
Audio tone - FE 50 - Gold/Non ferous 20 - Non FE 70
This should give you a setup where the nickel zone hits with a semi high tone. Targets from nickel to zinc hit with a low tone and zinc and above hi

Thanks for the answer Tom. I am so glad they are taking your input as to what should be incorporated into the detector. I think this race2 is going to fit my hunting style perfectly.

Were some of the changes you suggested Tom changed before the production models were shipped. Such as saving the setting when you switch modes?

I think there are better detectors out there. I had one, it was ok but to me nothing special other than you can customize it many different ways. Like a v3i lite.....;o)

QuoteI never read a bad metal detector review written by Andy S. maybe the manufacturers should have you and Bill S. do the beta testing.
A tough job for sure but somebodies gotta do it...lol
I realize that not everyone hunts the same way. I like to hunt for coins mostly and some civil war relics. But most of my hunting is done in trashy parks or schools. I think they should send their tes

I am using one that John Tracy let me borrow. I can tell you they go deep and seem to separate real good. I don't know if he would sell this one or not but I know they are not real cheap.

QuoteThis is exactly why other companies are pulling ahead. They are listening to customers instead of dictating to them.
Exactly. They (whites) need to send their prototype detectors to real users that will put them through their paces. Not these yes men that are just tickling their ears. On the MXS the modulation is horrible, the sound is not very good, it would have been nice to have the ni

Thanks for listening to your customers and trying to incorporate our ideas of what WE want in a metal detector. Can wait to try the Racer2. I wish some of the other manufacturers would do the same.

QuoteNo 4 Tone With Modulate Audio /ON? What a let down.
To be honest the modulation does not work that good. It only seems to work within the last inch of depth and then it starts cutting out the signal. So in all reality you get a better signal and possibly a bit more depth without modulation on.

QuoteP.S. Why is this video unlisted? What happened?
I did not want to post it for everyone to see because I feel like the short test I was able to do probably wouldn't be fair to the detector and I did not want to seem like I was just bashing it. Like others have mentioned it can be tweaked different ways and I just did not have time to do that but wanted to at least get something up for

QuoteThe 4 tones sound very close together to me. I would have preferred a higher pitch tone for high conductors.
My thoughts too. Also wonder why they didn't put the nickel notch at a high tone that way you don't have to watch the screen if you run no disc.....Like they did on the CZ3D.

The ups guy was late so I did not have time to do much testing. I did manage to film a little bit. Detector is pretty deep and seems to be fairly accurate at depth. The modulation is not very good, only modulated for the last inch or so then the audio starts to cut out about the time the modulation kicks in. I don't really care for the audio but that's coming from someone who likes the
