In my testing, in my dirt, I found the 10" concentric to have a little less depth and no improvement on bottle cap rejection compared to the 11" DD. My little 3x7 gives an improved (really degraded) audio signal over bottle caps compared to the 10" concentric, therefore the advantage using the 10" concentric is lost.

We sometimes forget that the LTD, like any other detector, detects "metal". The electronics don't know if it's a relic or a coin. We add that descriptor and sometimes that creates a problem.
The higher transmitting frequency of the F75 LTD tends to light-up low conductors a little better than lower frequency units. Since many relics tend to be low conductors, the F75 is

Even in CL mode in clean soil?

How is the management shared between these two companies? Do they share any enginnering, production, quality assurance personal? What of their marketing and sales group? I would think that the HR and finance groups could be entirely common.
I don't understand why First Texas would not combine the two groups and just call them Fisher, thus saving some money by reducing duplicate headcou

In my red dirt in the Upstate of SC, my F75 LTD trumped my Explorer II fitted with the newer Minelab Pro Coil when testing silver dimes buried in my test bed at 6-8" depth. During this test I ran the LTD under BP mode and sensitivies that were very moderate... say 50-60, so as to try to give a near silent background (no excessive chirping).
I extensively tested both machines using the 5&

The ACE250 is a great backup detector and can be had with little effort for between $150 and $175 used. I can get a silver dime to 6" with mine.
I haven't heard much good about the Garrett line except for the 250 and, of course, their stellar pin-pointer.

Tom, you have an interesting dilemma... I wonder how many of the buyer's of your first video qualify as members of the metal detecting "General Market". I suspect that a good many of us are at the upper end of the knowledge scale and, like me, are engineers (or have an engineering 'mind'), and welcome the in-depth understanding that you bring... the stuff that might enti

I wonder if the added air-gap benefit was an unintended consequence of the new LTD circuitry or if it was a design target that was achieved. In any case, I know of no other machine that possesses this advantage.

I believe that the F75 11" DD coil is superior to the 10" Concentric found on the stock F70, at least comparing performance of both on my F75 LTD. In my red clay dirt, I found the DD at least 1" deeper and a little more stable. In addition, the 10" DD seems no better IDing bottle caps compared to the 11" DD, of which the small 3x7 elliptical still seems to do the best j

I just performed a test using my LTD in my red clay soil test bed in BP mode using the stock 11" coil, FeO measured 0.03:
Running Sens=45 and DISC=0 I could 100% detect my 8" deep dime and 75% detect my 7" deep dime (???) running with a near silent background.
Running Sens=60 and DISC=21, given the same near silent background, I could again 100% detect my 8" dime and 75%

I know there are an infinite number of "what-if" scenarios that people might want to see, but I'd like to see the quantitative measurements of the LTD in BP and CL at very low sensitivity settings, such as 50.
I wonder if the apparent audio improvement is related to the type of dirt under the coil???

This is EXACTLY my experience with the F75 LTD at high SENS in BP mode. I've found much better performance with the LTD usng much lower sensitivities, I mean MUCH lower sensitivities. Put your SENS=45 and listen to the audio...it's much cleaner and more descriptive of what's underground. The VID is still way off, but I like to hunt like I did in the 90's using my ML Soverei

... to make a larger coil with a switchable "active" coil within the enclosure, that way you could run the stock (9x11DD) coil and switch off part of that coil to run like a 5" DD?
Or maybe the part of the coil that would be switched off would act as a nearby target.
Hmmm...

Very interesting design, removing the weight under the elbow and moving all the electronics, including battery, to the display. I wonder about the balance, as this design is somewhat like the Ace 150/250, which I feel to be a little coil-heavy compared to the F75.
I expect the next flagship post-F75 LTD to be of this design.

I need your opinion as to potential depth improvement, DE-->BP modes in our hot, red clay dirt. I'm a bit sceptical if the new circuit is all that advantageous in our type of dirt.

For curiosity I just air tested a Garrett's Ace 250 against an Explorer II with the 6" EXcelerator coil. With both machines maxed out, the 250 tested much deeper in my basement.
Enough said.

I can hit 8" on a silver dime in my test bed using the 5" maxed-out when the conditions are right (damp ground + low EMI). The signal is faint but sweet and the VDI is fleeting but correct. So if I hear the high pitch and see the VDI bounce once in the 75-85 range, I dig.
5"-6" should be routinely achieved with this coil in average ground without pushing the gain too high

I'm still trying to determine if my soil in the upstate of SC is 'hot', as I've heard many say that the red clay in our area (and shared with NE Georgia) is difficult due hunt in. I'm certain that it's difficult to dig, but the Fe reading on my F75 has nearly always stayed in the very low range, that is, in the .01/.03 range.
Consequently, is my mineralization lo
