It would be cool if they expanded the iron ID on one of their relic modes. They made the relic detector that Keith South

Love those deep squeakers that give a semi-repeatable high tone from multiple 90 degree angles, nice dig!!
For better or worse, I have my recovery speed locked in @ F2-0. I keep hearing the tones are more pronounced in Park modes vs Field, but I keep finding stuff in Field mode so I keep using it

Tom_in_CA and I have been itching to get out detecting! We decided to hit some of our old "back pocket" sites and check out a couple of new sites as well.
Reales, several Phoenix Buttons, flat buttons, some nice pre Civil War eagle buttons, seateds, relics, and the usual suspects were found this trip!

I was comparing it more from a price perspective in that context, but yes I agree it's more targeted at the EQX800 which is great!

Only time will tell...going to be interesting to see how a $635 SMF detector stacks up with a $1600 SMF detector...nothing to see here folks

For $635 or Pro Pack for a little bit more with the extra small coil (they should include a backpack, that would be awesome!!).
For $635, if it performs on par, doesn't even have to be better, but on par with the EQX600 it will be a good deal. Slightly more than a Vanquish, yet less then the EQX.
Bottle cap rejection!!
5 single freqs: 4, 10, 15, 20, 40kHz

The C$ was deep, and it loved deep round things, any and all deep round things haha and it loved EMI. When it was on though,

ozzie good to see ya back!
With everything else going on these days, detecting is the last thing we should be arguing about in my opinion. It's like arguing that a Ford is better then a Chevy, I mean we all know the Ford is a superior product, yet there are those that would argue otherwise Just kidding, hey I have deep respect for the analog crowd. Most of the folks I hunt with cut t

I hope that Keith returns.
Not only did he have an immense amount to share regarding detector technology and testing, but he has the relic passion and id very knowledgeable about relics and history.
Hopefully he's doing well, and is out in the field tearing it up and making the finds.

I'd like to see how Keith was getting along with the MDT. I've considered getting it for relic hunting, and would be very interested to see how he found it to perform at his relic sites. Keith always had great insights on whatever detector he shared his test results on.

I find Dimitar Gargov to be quite an interesting engineer.
I believe his foray into metal detector design (Tom D. correct me if I'm wrong) was the Fisher C$/CoinStrike. It was radically different then anything before it, yet it was, in the right hands, a very formidable detector. Fast forward to his Tarsacci MDT 8000 design, and yet again we have a design that's a vast departure fr
