IF someone would make a pin-pointer similar to a Garret ProPointer that:
1) Independent LED light (sometimes just nice to have a small light to look at a target during a night hunt and not have the pinpointer going off while trying to read the date off a coin or such)
2) Ability to turn the audio on/off and just use vibrate mode
3) Water proof
4) Instant on/off
5) KISS - Don't need a

I suspect an analog solution is going to be the best solution here. Shouldn't be too hard to adapt something like the use for wireless mics into the detecting world, they've been around for ever.

Paul that island looks and sounds like some fantastic detecting times ahead, best of luck!
The ATX looks like it could clean out that park, hope there's gold at the bottom of a hole for you in the future! I have a place that ATX would be fun to use at, targets are getting sparse.

I work in RF engineering (WiFi) and we have two large RF chambers at work. This would certainly be a fun test to try with the BP mode.
On the flip side, a portable RF Analyzer/Spectrum Analysis device could provide the data required for the best usable channel on the F75 in the field.

Saw an impressive Racer test a fellow did with a plastic bin fill of red soil from Culpepper. 6" of soil, to be exact. He said most VLF machines loose it after 5" of depth. He tried a Racer on default settings, ground balanced to the red soil and under the 6" red soil he placed a three ringer, and the Racer picked it up with correct TID with ease. He then tried a T2 with the sa

There's nothing to really set on the Racer, tones & sensitivity will be the most used settings. I used the Omega a lot before I traded it off, and it didn't save settings, but you would be off to the races in 10 seconds - set tones, set sensitivity, ground balance, go find silver!
Non-issue IMHO.
Now if it were say an Etrac or V3, totally different story.

His new sidekick is a lot better on the eyes then Howard!! lol
Hard not to like the guy, he definitely has the passion for detecting and he finds some great old colonial sites out in RI.

I think you'll find that most of the Northern California railways didn't get started until the mid 1800's at the very earliest, and most were not really going until the 1870's.
Check this out:
I've ready before some accounts that noted approximately how far apart RR camps were, and have read posts on various forums where people have tracked down the camps and

That's the most impressive results I've seen yet demonstrating the Racer in tough detecting conditions yet. It sounds like if you have tame soil, the F75 and/or T2 will be a deeper machine, but throw in some mineralization and it looks like the Racer easily pulls ahead of the pact! Would have been interesting to see the video posted put the T2 (assuming it was a LTD model) into BP mo

These details are shared by Tom in the Rcpt Ack of F75 Ltd prototype thread, although a long read, it's a good one.
After getting my F75 LTD back with the DST upgrades, I went through it again and these were my main take aways:
You must select '4-tone' to have the CZ-3D "old-coins" program in the Ltd/T2/F75.
Do not use 'je' mode for now. (You are not lo

The T2 is similar, yet very different from the F75. Yes they both have BP, but on the T2 the BP is tied to the tones, 2-tones to be exact, on the F75 when using BP you can select any tone option you want (something like ten different tone options). Some may disagree, but on both machines my go to mode has always been BP, but I prefer 3H tones on the F75 when using BP mode.

Hey Mike,
I'm in Northern California. That coin has been on my mind for about 4 years, every time I go to that park, I check it, it's still there - lol Sounds great, right next to an old cypress tree planted in the 1800's, I've pulled a ton of old coins from around that tree, barbers, indians, SLQ's, so I suspect it'll be something good. Next time I'm up t

Dilek thanks for candid response on this. The way some forumites around the boards were venting, you'd think we were talking about the JFK conspiracies
I really like the specs and features listed on the Impact advertisement that erroneously (?) came up on the KC site, and I hope that in some form or another you do in fact make that product.
Having owned a Teknetics Omega, T2 LTD2,

Tom,
I noticed when I had my 11-14 upgraded machine, FA mode was all but useless in the field. It simply blurred the audio together too much for any intelligible data to be derived. Fast forward a month later and testing a 1-15 upgraded machine, identical settings (9.0, FA, 0 disc, 99 sens, 11" DD) and in the identical sea of iron, FA mode was now working very well, and I was able to pu

When I moved from a F70 to a CZ70 sites lit up! For some reason the F70 (in my soil) was never a deep seeker, I had a site that I knew was old and should be good, but only found a few wheaties. After hitting it with the CZ70, any coin I got from 6"+ was old (first 6" had been stripped clean) and I was finding SLQs, Barbers, teens wheaties and indians, etc. down to 10" deep.

I have an almost new NEL Hunter for the AT Pro. Took it out two times, and it works great, but I traded my AT Pro in for a T2 LTD2.
PM me if you're interested.

I have to admit that the Racer was their first machine that caught my interest, but in the end, it wasn't really different enough from the T2 LTD2 or F75 LTD2 that I already have to justify getting one. The Impact, now that is quite a bit different from the T2 LTD2 and F75 LTD2, and it has piqued my interest.... interesting world we live in, even though we may or may not agree with their (

Had both machines, used them both a lot, and like them both. The AT is deeper, both are great in iron, both hot on silver, The AT is a little better picking silver out of iron, and of course the iron audio is a nice feature. Both are light, both have a great 11" DD coil. The Omega has a superior display, the TID on the AT is way too small. Personally if I could only have one machine, it w

Thanks Crosby and J.T.!
Keith that's as good of theory as any on the Staghead. I measured it, it's about 2.25" h x 1.75" long. The site it came from burned to the ground in 1851, and it wasn't made at the adobe site, so I can't see it being any newer than 1850. Interesting relic, and as deep as it was, that tells me there's more there for the next hunt.

newwayne - Thanks. For the most part I do like the upgraded F75. I didn't try as many variations of the settings and coils as I planned (the 11" DD never came off, although I planned to use my 5" and the NEL Tornado) I mainly used BP w/3H tones, but also tried FA w/3H tones. I did find that the FA wo
