Great video...was a swipe at Whites. They sell a black/yellow hat for the Whites MX Sport detector. Not sure why the direct comparison. Whites is already sunk.

I knew Jerry and Stephan Garris (second owner). When Jerrys health became an issue, he sold company too Stephan. I too had several units that Stephen built and all had problems. If it doesn't say Tyndall on the side of the control box, I wouldn't even consider buying it. I later found out from current owner that Stephen didn't let the coil epoxy cure long enough and thus coil probl

In Virginia, a 12 inch mini ball is just an ordinary find. Im speaking of central Virginia (Richmond). Look at how many GNRS hunts they use to win before the company fell apart. The answer would be all of them........

If you could only have one detector, would you purchase a CTX 3030 or a Etrac? Would like to hear from those who have owned both or maybe hunt with someone who has one .
Thanks for your time !

I just had a thought......with all the new brands and models of machines coming from overseas, will there be any US companies left in 10 years? We all know what happened to Tesoro. Do you think the rest of the companies talk to each other ?

I have had Tesores since the 1980"s. Stopped using them when other companies produced fresh more modern machines. I would love to have a used Tesoro again, but who would work on them ? I assume the lifetime warranty is over since the company no longer exists. In 1989 using a Silver Saber, I found a Civil War VMM Cartridge Box Plate. In beautiful condition, it drove all of the Nautilus owners

AT MAX - 5 years ago
Has anyone tried the Garrett AT Max? I understand it may not be as deep detecting as many of it's foreign competition (Equinox, Anfibio, Dues). Any thoughts ?
Thanks,
Mark

Was wondering how long you guys keep a detector for? Seemed to keep my Nautilus machines for years when their wasn't any competition for depth. Now it seems a new machine comes out every couple of months and they all seem to be spot on.
Thanks for your input !

I used to feel bad for American detector companies, but they allowed this to happen to them selves. No new designs, put a different sticker on the same unit or change the color doesn't work anymore. Their reign on this hobby IMO is over ! Sad !!

I find it's really unfair to compare a new detector model against a 20 year old machine. I have owned a CZ3D and it was a good machine for its time. However, it cannot begin to compare to new technology. I retired from the USAf as an aircraft maintainer. The F16 is a great fighter and has it's place in the arsenal. However, I finished my career working on the F22 Raptor, stealth fighter

As I have said in the past, American detector manufacturers are doomed. They do little R&D and hope you'll continue to buy their machines on brand loyalty. I am happy to have a Deus, Minelab and Nokta as my go to machines.

Nice find Calabash. I remember being stationed at Charleston. Easy digging in that soil. Pulled many a CW relic back in the 1980's.

I loved the brand. It used to be that was how you could tell a serious relic hunter from a rookie was by his choice of machines. Great company until the original owner, Jerry Tyndal got sick and sold the business. Second owner cut corners and sent out many bad units. Look who won the GNRS competitions. It was always Nautilus until the change in ownership. Other companies were never even close in

I had several 1266's. They were great machines and as others have commented, were deep units. The batteries lasted around 80 hours. Had all the coils....a great relic machine. Bought a 1270 and hated it. The ergonomics were awful. The angle of the control unit head was terrible. Tried to like it but it had to go. Look for a 1266 only. It is rare to find a gently used one, but they are out th

I'm always excited to see what new machines are introduced. I always wanted to buy American detectors but they simply can't compete anymore. During my first 30 years of detecting as a relic hunter in Virginia, I primarily used a Nautilus machine. For coin hunting I have owned many Whites, Original Fisher Labs, Garrett and yes, Tesoro. They were all great units in their day but now it is

With another new machine hitting the market, does this again signal the end of American detector manufacturers ? Is their ability to design something new and compete over? So sad............The ORX looks like another great XP product. I notice it is $899.00, which seems to be the new standard price of quality machines. This price based on the Equinox and Anfibio pricing. What do you all think????

I have viewed all the Anfibio videos and it is an outstanding machine. I was wondering if it is based on the Impact model? Seems to be similar in appearance and has three frequencies etc. Nokta is a truly innovative and fantastic company. Would be interested in a comparison video of both.
Thanks and Happy New Year to everyone !
Its a very wet day in Virginia !!!

I noticed the Nautilus link on another forum was recently taken down. I wondered if that had happened but was praying not. One man can't keep a small business afloat by himself. I remember the glory days of Nautilus in the 1980's and 1990's. They didn't advertise their detectors because that's all relic hunters used. Jerry and Dottie were a delight to call.....Jerry was a

With the ever increasing new detector models coming from Nokta, Makro and Minelab just to mention a few, why are American manufacturers so slow on releasing new machines to compete on the world market?
