One has to ask themselves.......do supernatural things exist or all bogus??. Anything not able to be explained by science, is it automatically supernatural (or bogus)?? Does anything exist beyond science?? In the old days, anything wireless would be considered supernatural or a magic trick of sorts. As time goes on we learn more about nature and any holes that were temporarily filled by "ed

LOL...Like I said I stay away from the dowsing or water-witching, whatever you call it. Doesnt apply to me. Back to the question, dont waste your money on any fancy gizmo, long range locator.

I agree that analog metal detectors have more descriptive Sound than digital. Once one uses a single tone for years you begin to learn the nuances...shape, depth. good / bad....very telling. When it comes to Sound, digital metal detectors rely more on Tone-ID to take the place of a single tones quality. Digital machines are, however, sounding better......still liking the Nokta

Looking forward to this Vista model. Wonder about the Disc range. I still wish I had kept my Gold Mountain 1650. It had a two level disc...High and Low. This range was selected by a single toggle switch and single disc knob. High disc range was a tesoro-like level. Low disc range was a Vista-like level. Ran at 15 kHz. Had three sizes of round Concentric coils. Manual GB. One of the best I have us

Thanks, yes the original was single tone. The two tone Golden Sabre 2 was 12kHz a

The difference between the Bandido umax and Bandido 2 umax is the threshold knob (on the 2). Using the Threshold one could supertune it for extra depth, but supertuned it doesnt do as well in unmasking. In the end might be better to choose the Vaquero. If you want to hunt in all-metal then models with GB and Threshold are better. The Eldorado umax has the better 180 disc range. As I mentioned pre

For the money the Bandido Umax isnt worth it. Not much more depth even if you have the GB set correctly. The Compadre, Silver Sabre (any one) or Troy x2 is all one needs for fun. Never tried the Golden Umax or Mojove. I think Monte for one, likes the original big box Bandido.

Agree that the Max is the worst of the AT Series. Way too noisy and you will dig more trash. Garrett could have at least fixed the weakness of the control box falling off. There are better machines in the same price range. Garrett does a ton of advertising.....just dont be fooled. If you want to stick with Garrett go with the AT Gold or Pro.

Analog sound character is a language easier to learn........especially single tone machines. Digital metal detectors tend to substitute sound character nuance with Tone ID (assigning each metal its own tone frequency). This is not to say that digital sound wont someday have more nuance. Other than Minelab's BBS or FBS, sound character deteriorates at depth and will lie to you......its safer

Way too early to be arguing about a machine not on the market yet. Testers do their thing and may or may not be biased....heck some may even be paid by First Texas, dealers, ect....This is the time of hush, speculation, hush, speculation. Nothing to get mad about...LOL. Price-wise it may be worth it....some dont bat an eye at the price of Minelab GPX 5000. Great new tech for the market. Consumer

Nokta.....Headphones......we're running out of colors. Just make a software update. Even if cost us consumers a small amount. Headphones cost $129.00 or more. Some models we can update via computer/data cable....this should be Standard on all new models. Shipping machines back and forth to Service Center, for just a software update, wastes time and money. Thanks Nokta for listening/consider

The Deteknix X-Pointer is a quality pinpointer. If the Quest metal detectors are on the same quality level as their pinpointers and combined with a fair price....then they are in the MD race.

The differences in various model metal detectors and everyday differences in ground conditions make it so no site is hunted out. One could hunt with the CZ, Nox, Deus, Impact, Etrac, and TDI, in any order and find things the previous machines missed. You could do this once a month and still find things. Everyone is different.....choose what YOU feel you can bond with. Many here will help anyone h

Didnt XP offer the wrist strap thing to attach the Pod....like wearing a watch? What about a metal detector using your Smart Phone as the control box.....just pay for the App and Coil.

What good would a digital metal detector do if you couldnt learn it.....a light-weight Door Stop is of no use to anyone. Be better to hip mount or use a harness thingy for your Fisher CZ. I also think the CZ-7 (or CZ-7a) was slightly better balanced with the batteries under the arm cuff. When one really connects with a certain model MD its really hard to relearn another, especially jumping from a

Cal knows and loves the XP Deus.......how unbiased would the tests be comparing it to an unfamiliar machine ?? Let's save time, fast forward....Deus wins. I think its aesome when someone can really get in tune with a certain model metal detector and excel. It doesnt have to be the newest or most expensive thing going either. Heck the 2009 Deus aint no spring chicken.
