Google 'sulfur and cream of tartar tablets'. My two brothers and I took one a day during the early Spring through the mid Fall. Never had problems with chiggers, mosquitoes ticks or other biting insects. The tablets used to be at any pharmacy but now they have to be ordered on the net. I can't find any local. They WORK and work well. To keep the ticks away, you can sprinkle sulfur

Cans are never the same shape or size in the ground and can give a solid number or the numbers can be all over the place. A can is not like a coin that always has a constant size and shape. One thing you can do is to raise your coil while swinging over the target and if the target is still strong with the coil 6" or so off the ground, you can almost bet the target is a can or other trash. Yo

Mike, it sounds to me like you just need to bite the bullet and find you a nice, used Lobo. I think that if you were to sell any of your machines just to purchase a Lobo, that you would hate that decision. I know that I have too many detectors but I have also sold a couple that I wish I hadn't. You KNOW how it is! Different hunting situations require different detectors. Heck, even the same

Yes, the numbers jump a little on the F75, but the more you use it, the more you will be able to tell the difference between a quarter or other coin and a piece of junk. Remember, the F75 is super sensitive and you do not swing exactly over the same place every time. After many hours of use, you will dig more coins and less trash. You will know with 95% certainty what is under the coil. Of course

There could have been something else in the ground that may have made one of the coins either up-average or down-average. No way to know this now. To me, this is nothing to be concerned with, and the Deus is surly working properly, but it is a learning experience none the less. Hey, you dug it up! That is the plus side to this. I have only had my Deus for a short time but I am impressed with it.

I started this wonderful hobby in 1971. There was no such thing as a pinpointer back then. I wish there would have been! The first one I ever had was an Automax. You know where that one came from! It was not the greatest, but it worked. As soon as a better one came out, I snagged it! It was a Tinytec Ultra Deluxe, which I still own and it still works. I do not use it and really should sell it) an

I have several coils for my F75. The NEL Sharpshooter is the coil of choice for me and is the coil that stays on the F75. I am a coin shooter in newer parks and schools and occasionally in a vacant lot. The Sharpshooter is really balanced on the F75 and I am not bothered by Iron, except the crown caps and I can tell with high certainty the caps and dig very few. Otherwise, at least for me, the Sh

Maybe these types of slick coins were carried by someone for a long time. The obverse is black and slicker. I found the quarter in the pic just last month. The park I was hunting is new but it had fill dirt that came from who knows where. I have dug several really slick coins.

Take 'Sulfur and Cream Of Tarter Tablets' and you will not be bothered by ticks or mosquitoes. We took one a day when I was a kid and they work! They used to be over the counter at any pharmacy but not any more. Just do a search for them and they can be ordered online. Also, ticks can be removed with just a drop of Tree Oil.

OK, I think the issue has now been resolved. Here is how it went. The first unit the transmitter wouldn't turn on after being on charge all night and the red LED had gone out. After speaking with Garrett, they sent me a new unit in a new box. That one, again after being properly charged, the transmitter would turn off after around 30 minutes of use while swinging and hearing targets. Another

I used a battery charger that I got from eBay. It is just like the one in the attached pic. It charges using the two USB ports on front of the charger. It also charges AAA, AA, C, D and 9v Alkaline, Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries. Yes, Alkaline. And it does a good job charging the Alkaline batteries. I do not think there is a problem at all charging the Z-Lynk with this or any USB as long as it puts o

No, The first unit that wouldn't take a charge never did come on. I had it on charge and after 7 hours, the light went out which means the battery is charged, but the unit would never come on. I never was able to get out in the field with it. Having to press a button every 29 minutes is not what is supposed to happen. If they can not come up with a unit that will remain on while I am detecti

I am using the supplied band. I place the unit where I can see the red LED so I know it is on. Nothing is in the way and nothing can hit the button to accidentally turn the unit off. I actually had the unit to go off while the detector was sitting on the ground while I dug dug target. I am also using Garrett headphones. Garrett is paying for all shipping. Garrett has been very good and fast in re

I was told by Garrett that the unit does indeed have an auto off' feature that will turn off the unit after 10 minutes of inactivity. However, I am using my X-Terra 705 with an constant audio from the threshold and I am using the detector, so sounds are constantly being transmitted, so the transmitter should stay on. When I changed to the F19, I realize it runs quiet, but I an still getting

Garrett z-Lynk. Who has one and are you having problems with the transmitter suddenly shutting off?? I am presently on my 3rd unit. Garrett has been good at replacing problem units for me but this is beginning to bother me. The first unit I had was defective and the transmitter wouldn't take a charge. I got a replacement charged it up and took it out. After about 30 minutes, the transmitter

That is a good question, tabman. I talked Tinfoil out of one of his Goldens a few months ago. It is the original older version and had not been updated to the new tones. I must admit it is a great detector and really does hit on coins clear down to BB sized targets. However, I hunt really trashy parks and I dig too many square pull tabs so if I use it in my parks, I disc out clear to max and only

No, it is a 4 tome machine. I have one. It is the older version. Yes, tones are close together but after using it a while one gets used to the tones. I

Price drop to $350.00. I know that I will regret selling the Vaquero nut I want to try the Golden uMax. I know that the Vaquero is deeper than the Golden uMax. I just like to play around with different detectors. My loss is your gain!

And THAT is exactly why I stopped using coil covers many years ago. I have NEVER seen a coil that has been ruined from not using a coil cover. I am not saying that you shouldn't use one or that a coil has never been damaged from not using a coil cover, but I hate them. Oh, I have been detecting since 1971 and have done a lot of swinging over the years.

I figure that it would get my 280 lb body up to about 50 feet high and then run out of propulsion fuel and put a quick end to my day. Nope, real or not, it is not for me! I'll just hike in!

I asked for and got a pair of these for Christmas. The first time out with them I almost threw them away. The headphones would loose power about every 10 minutes. It would just shut down without warning. I contacted Deteknix and spoke with Jason. He provided a return label and I shipped them back. When I got them back, it was a different pair with a slightly different design. I charged them up an
