Are we able to separate First Texas from Fisher and Tecknetics? Seems like Fisher and Tecknetics are in the exact same situation as Whites. Will First Texas invest the money in R&D or let the brands slowly die?

Vanquish is definitely using max F2 iron bias on the high setting. I'm guessing it is F2 3 or 4 on the low setting. Looks like a bug that needs fixing. The high iron bias shouldn't knock out coins unless there is iron in close proximity. Tnsharpshooter are you registered on the original forum you linked to? We need to make sure Minelab knows about this.

Nox F2 @ 8-9 is about the same as high iron bias on Vanquish. The Nox also tries to give iron tones with all metal ON but with an occasional 17-18. Looks like the same quirk is affecting them both. Never tested high iron bias that much because I don't use it.

Couple more quick tests with the 540 this morning.
Normal VDI in air:
Copper penny 24-25-26
Dime 25-26-27
Quarter 29-30-31
Nickel 12-13-14
Penny on dime and dime on penny gives consistent 28
Penny on nickel 20-21
Nickel on penny and nickel on dime same as dime on nickel above. Gives no signal until all metal is on then gives -5 -6.

I guess if you have the 440 or 340 you will miss a coin spill if a dime is on top of a nickel. You will have to run the 540 with low iron bias to avoid this. Haven't tested the 540 much since I assumed it was just like the Nox. I think I need to test it out a little after seeing this. Debbie from Minelab said the Vanquish was updateable if there was a need for it. I think this would qualify.

The Vanquish series has a big problem with high iron bias falsing on iron that needs to be fixed also. Think there are some bugs with the Vanquish high iron bias setting that is not present on the Equinox. I just tried this test with the 540. Keep in mind that the lower models can't change iron bias settings. I think the 440 and 340 have permanent high iron bias.

The current Ace series aren't waterproof. Don't want to compete with the AT series which will surely get the multi freq treatment later. I'm most curious about recovery speed since it seems to be fixed.

Same with 8-9 inch wheaties also. They usually bounce from 23 to low 30's. Had a barber dime hit the low 30's once, and assumed it was a wheatie till I saw it shining in the hole. I'm like you, when I hear that deep high tone I'm 99% sure it's a coin.

Used to love my AT Pro. I'm still pissed over the AT Max. I thought it was going to be the new tech and design. That stunt caused me to buy an Equinox and a Deus.

IMHO, we have failed as a nation. Capitalism ins't sustainable without integrity. We haven't had a true capitalist system in several decades.

I've gotten lazy with ground balancing over the last couple of years. The red clay in here in southern KY can mess with your ground balance. I just turn on ground tracking with the Eqx and Deus. Haven't played with the Vanquish other than running it through the test garden. I did wonder if the auto ground balance kept it from competing with the Eqx on depth. It consistently got 1-2 inc

Picked one up at Dicks when they got them in store. It's a good machine as long as you don't hunt heavy iron. It falses like crazy on square nails and iron halos. Will be an awesome beach/park machine.

Have to call dealers and ask for best price. Some of them will knock off a few bucks. Noboby has them "on sale" anywhere. The only deal right now is for the EQ 600. You can get a free 6" coil.

Your not missing anything on social media. Imho Nokta needs to start playing Garrett's advertising game if they want to grow roots in the US. They just need to be careful about who they associate with.

Tnss seems to be plugged in to the detector world like I am. He can probably reciprocate what I'm talking about. Had one person claim the Simplex was finding civil war relics that years of other machines couldn't. Then makes a video surrounded by every new product Nokta makes on a table and saying they are now selling them. Pretty transparent to me. Have they never tried a PI machine? N

Nothing to do with tnsharpshooter. He uses/promotes several brands. He only creates informative videos because he is always trying to learn and find what works best. He helps me learn and to do the same. If he started making detector infomercials like Garrett and now Nokta by getting youtube users to only use promote their brand, I would unsubscribe. He seems like too much of a critical thinker t

Nokta has learned from Garrett when it comes to free advertising. I've unsubscribed from several big youtube channels lately that have started exclusively using/selling Nokta machines. Use whatever works for you, but when you sell out like that I don't trust your opinion anymore. You can't be unbiased if you are a paid shill.

As good as it is for the price, it is no where close to the Deus. With your current lineup, the Equinox would be good if you want waterproof.
