I'm just guessing, but wouldn't this cause the VDi number to be off or inconsistent if the search coil is not nulled to perfection?

I live in a very rural area. I grew up hunting and fishing all the time as a kid. I used to go to combat shoots years ago when I did volunteer work with the local Civil Defense Police. We just helped as security at fairgrounds, festivals and sometimes at fire scenes. Anyways, I usually do the majority of my detecting at old colonial sites over by the Wabash River. We've had more than one sh

This is a Fisher CZ-5 with the Bake-O-Lite type knobs that I just recently sent to Thomas Dankowski to have him convert to CZ-3D specifications. Tom said it’s one of the cleanest detectors that he has seen in a while. He said it is very EMI stable. I purchased this detector directly from a friend in my hometown area. He has always kept it cleaned and stored properly. It calibrated out at 11.0”

Great finds Kevin! I always like the looks of old silver coming out the ground. Barbers are sweet old dimes...digging the old bullets would be fun. Thanks for sharing...

The first true metal detector I had after that was a new at the time “big box” White’s Goldmaster 66TR. In my part of Illinois about all you saw was White’s detectors. We’re talking 1971 in very rural Illinois. Later on I knew an old boy with a Compass Judge that had a great collection of si

I have for sale a Fisher CZ-5 that's in excellent operational and cosmetic condition. I have tested it in my test garden and it has great depth. I have a CZ-3D that's 12" verified and honestly it does no better depth wise in the ground than the CZ-5 I have up for sale. Would sell for $425.00 Priority shipped in lower 48 if paid by Postal Money order or with Paypal plus the 3.5% fee
