The best detector when I was a kid was my Whites Goldmaster 63TR. I bought it used for $50.00 (all I could afford), it was all metal mode, and I pretty much dug everything that sounded solid or changed the threshold. I found a lot of good stuff and still have most of my finds. My how detectors have changed along with the prices of the new ones...

I make decent money and work too d*mn much. Most people have some kind of pastime. My brother has about $25,000 in a Harley, $45,000 in a diesel truck, and who knows how much in a 5th wheel toy hauler. I drive a 95 Buick Century with 58,000 miles on it that I bought for $2000.00. Yes, I have much more than that in the metal detectors that I own. If they made one detector that does everyhing that&

That is my CZ3D detector up for sale. It should be a good one. I originally purchased it for my father. He can no longer swing a detector because of shoulder problems and severe deafness. He still watches when I get out. He still has all the coins and artifacts we found years ago. Time moves too quickly...

I think the 6" Excelerator is hard to beat for the money. I have hunted an old fairgrounds with this coil that was impossible to hunt with other brand detectors because of the volume of trash in the ground. Using a trashy park pattern I have found Indian Heads and Barber dimes at fairly good depths(7-8 inches). It really ferrets coins out, like it should, for a small coil...

Does anyone have the 2-pack seminar DVD's called Advanced Treasure Hunting with Thomas Dankowski that they would like to sell? I thought it might be interesting to watch. Just PM me or e-mail at tracy.j@mchsi.com if you have them and would like to sell. Thanks...Marty

I would have that threshold humming on that old Whites 66TR years ago to hear that sound variation when I would run over those depth targets. You had to have a good hear and I dug most everything.(didn't want to miss anything) Lord we could have used a pinpointer back then!! I found several gold rings. Silver coins were more plentiful in the ground. My father found a beautiful gold crucifix

I guess I should have stated my friend uses a more recent model Minelab Explorer. I was hoping to use the F75 LTD or a Minelab Etrac. I was afraid the CZ3D might be more sensitive to other detectors. Thanks for the replies...

I have never gone detecting that much with others. I'm wondering which detectors are less likely to interfere with each other. I've read on this website that F75's and CZ's shouldn't be in the same park while detecting. I have several makes of detectors and now have someone who wants to partner up on research and finding old colonial sites. I'm wondering if certain d

I just would like to start by saying 3 out of the 5 metal detectors I own are Fisher brand. Some would like for me to give Fisher a break as if they could not do something about “real world” feedback. At this point, I have more money in my First Texas CZ3D than it would ever cost new. In other words, I have very little to gain monetarily from any real closure on this issue. The real gain or the

I guess a few are still hung up on a simple comparison of value for the money (the ACE 250). You did prove that it’s pretty impressive for the money. All of what you wrote makes perfect sense but does not answer why the “NORM” is a lower number than it used to be. Is it the component sourcing to save money or the lowering of the bar so as to not compete with the top of the line model. I guess

I just want to address the idea of the magic 12” depth of the CZ detectors. First I want to say that I realize the present CZ3D is no longer the “Flagship” detector for Fisher. I know that it’s not the future of Fisher in terms of profit or the latest technology. I myself would be more than willing to pay the extra cost to truly know what I was purchasing. Maybe a CZ3D LTD could be built that wa

Thanks for the head to head comparison on both detectors. It seems it would be hard to catch the signal on the V3i compared to the E-Trac. I'm surprised that best data catches it a little better. Only because you hear so much on forums about some people often running in correlate. Very interesting...

I did post it on Findmall on the CZ forum. When verified, nothing could be done to restore or improve the performance. I don't doubt others have had good experience with Fishers service department but I definitely have not.

I have both this newer CZ3D and the Los Banos 1121 series. Both have been validated by our moderator. The newer one was validated@12" before it quit the first time. Then only validated@8.2" the 2nd time after it was worked on by Fisher. The Los Banos validated at slightly over 12" and I would consider it a very good detector. The 2010 model detector is not under warranty because I

I was out detecting when it all of a sudden lost its volume and became extremely unstable. I took it home and checked with another coil and it wouldn't sound on a coin at all. It was only the 2nd time I had used it before it quit working. I had been impressed with its performance up to that point. In fact, I had just found a very deeply buried coin before it gave up. When I sent it to Fisher
