I've noticed this "degrading of the signal" over a target with my E-Trac. I've also noticed the "Lock-on" of target as you work over the spot. I just assumed it was caused by the slow processor or slow processing of the target to get the depth. I have been using the X-8 coil lately with good results. Depths of 7-8" inches or deeper. The soil here is mostly mild

I called Fisher today and was not happy with what I was told. I tried to explain to F*lix (the initial person I talked to on the phone) at Fisher what was happening with my FTP CZ3D. This is a 2010 model detector that I just purchased the middle of last year . They had just recently worked on this detector and something very much had killed its performance . F*lix then connected me with the tec

Was the Fisher CZ70 very similar to the CZ3D? Did it have the 4 tones and discriminate like the CZ3D? I just saw one sell for $610.00 on Ebay. I'm just curious. I'm metal detector poor and was not interested in buying one. I figured someone has had experience with the detector. I'm impressed with the CZ3D. I just wondered what others had experienced with this model.

The main reason I shared this story is because there are so many incidents like this that come and go. They are locked in time until someone stumbles on to them or comes along and digs them up...

I was told a story a few years ago about my great grandfather losing a gold coin. It's somewhere in the backyard of his old home place. I believe he was working in the garden or chicken coop when he lost the coin. I don't know what denomination it was. It was probably a small coin. My family, like most in this area, were farmers who didn't have much. It must have been a terrible da

You say the 5" coil will not detect your keys at all......... but.......... if you (now) switch back to the 8" coil........ will it detect the keys..... and to what range?
I'll post my results this Friday when I'm off my 12 hr daylight shift. Thanks...John

I checked the detector with a 5" coil today and it is definitely not working. In fact it is acting up worse. I ran the coil over my set of keys with no response at all.

I'll try to check it again.

It's a newer First Texas. You might know I really like it and it bit the dust. I put too much money in it. I'll eventually try to send it in.

I was detecting yesterday with my CZ3D. I was really finding the coins. One wheatie a good 7-8" deep. All of a sudden my volume on my detector dropped drastically, the id meter pegged and the ground balance would not work. I checked the batteries and it was not them. The meter will not move from pegged while on. I wonder if it could be the 8" coil on it that went bad? Does anyone have a

After seeing the differences it looks like I would have to get the F75 LTD. It looks like it would be well worth the extra $200 to buy the Fisher brand. I'm leaning towards buying a new one rather than looking for a used. I'm guessing the 5 year warranty probably is not transferable when purchased used. Thanks...John

Does the F75 LTD have more features than the T2 LTD detector? I was thinking about a T2 Limited but from what I've read it's a slightly different detector than the F75 LTD. I don't want to spend that kind of money and not be happy.

Yes, I asked them to turn it on to verify that it worked at all. I wasn't sure (with an older model) if Fisher would or could fix it correctly if it were broke. I buy stuff from Ebay quite a bit. I have never had a bid pulled and it be sold to someone for much less money than I was offering. Just strange. Oh well. Hopefully, I can find one for less money.

Actually, that was me that bid the $649 for the detector. He pulled my bid and put a buy it now for $515.00. All I did was asked if it worked and he pulled my bid later. It didn't make any sense but maybe there was something wrong with the detector. I knew I was paying too much but maybe he did me a favor...John
