Fix it with a metal screw? That close to the coil? interesting.....If the machine costs as much as I've seen them online, I'd be quite upset as well.

Yep Roy, you have my old CZ3D, and I bought it directly from Tom, and he calibrated it before sending, and I found some nice deep targets with it.... wish my life event would have been different and I'd still be swinging it. Do you want that detector back you sent me? I'll ship it if you want. I bought a 5900/Di Pro SL, White's analog relic machine for a 100.00 from an old guy who

I'm about to invest in a new detector, again, and I was looking for some opinions on either of these. I have a lot of hours with the CZ3D but none with the F-75....
Thanks, Ken

Some folks Egos do not allow them to give praise where deserved. I'll put my money on Tom Dankowski in a hunt against anyone, and in an informational session on detecting and machines any day.......

I'm going to be out in spencer county, fisherville area. I don't do much park hunting or city hunting. I like to research sights like train depots long torn down, log cabins, and old farmsteads, picnic grounds, etc.

That would be super cool, thanks ROY.............
Tom, I'd like to be ble to use the F-75 se. I'm a coinshooter at heart, and I'm an Ohio guy and travel there to that lomey soil often.......... Thanks for the info.

Hi, Tom.
Moving to the Louisville Ky, area, 25 miles south of the Ohio river, in four months. Coinshooting mostly, but this area may bode well for relics, too. I've already read your extensive field test information on the LTD, Tom, thanks for the entensive information.
Thanks, Ken

Hello all. I've spent many days here on Tom's board and received a lot of good info, and actually purchased a CZ3D from Tom that he set up for me. Alas, I had to sell my machines after a divorce a couple of years ago and am starting to look for a machine again I have to save up some cash, or buy a used machine, but I'll make it sooner or later. I had to laugh at myself, because whe

I'm only listing one vid of two of the unveiling of the coins from an Army officers coin purse. It was recovered/dug up from Hanbrough hill in Va. The other video is there to see the full contents of the purse.
I found it pretty amazing. Enjoy.

Hence, Tom. Short of a full blown archy dig in such sites, we as detectorist are doomed to a 5% rate of recovery in iron infested sites with the painful knowledge that we are standing on good targets.
Now the question arises of an advancement in detectors that can unmask/ see through the iron to the masked targets. Leaves one wishing.
This ironically leaves us at the starting point of detec

To add one point.
If you receive this type of tone you speak of, when you pin-point watch to see that the center of the tone is different than the pin-point area. Often if not always, the tip of a nail will tone high, and you'll pin-point on the body of the nail which will not be in the same spot as the high tone signal.
With practice you'll find that the high tone won't sou

I'm sure you'll like it. Love mine. But, give it a chance, at least two sets of batteries before things clear up for you.
Hunt in 0 discrim, 4 3/4 sens and enhanced. Go to your older sites and you'll see why this machine is a great one.

I found something odd the other day in my test garden.
I have a dime buried at various depths, one at 11" 8" and 6"
The 11" dime is toning in a broken signal, but is telling me it's there.
The odd part is that it will not pin-point. Strange because AM should go deeper than DM?

Try this, and look at pages after page 12
Keep in mind you should be air testing with a dime. enhanced is fine.
Set your sensitivity at 4 3/4 to start. ou can play with your sens from there as you air test the dime. You realize you will see max results in real world dirt?
The halo effect will enhance depth.
There is also a test to see if your CZ3D is calibrated properly. You will

A bigger dime. The car has more surface area, hence it is easily detected from a greater distance due to its volumn.
Or if the dime must remain its original size, then you need the ability to add more sensitivity, (receive gain), without subjecting that same sensitivity to interference.
Just like my CZ-3D achieves max depth at 4 3/4 sens setting. I have room to go up, but the question is way

So Tom, is it fair to say that not as much transmit power is needed to penetrate into the ground to a depth of say 9"

I say this with all seriousness.
I would like to see an affordable,(to the everyday detectorist), ground penetrating radar type unit with a screen. A viewable screen where the actual item could be seen. i.e. size. In this type of detector there would be no need for
metal detecting capability, although I believe it could be incorpoated, and it's my opinion that the depth could well exceed
