Wow Keith, that is the best write up of the deus Ive seen yet. Couple quick questions...how does the build quality seem? Is there support in the usa if it needs work,or would it have to be sent overseas?

Bottom line for me is Im a poor white boy, gonna wait and see if a stripped down ,cheaper version pops up. One thing I guarantee, there will be plenty on the classifieds from guys who tried it once, and found out it doesnt magically make gold/ silver appear out of thin air.

Hey Albert,I lived in Germany in the mid 70s. Lived in Herzoganarach ( sp?) and went to elementary school in Erlangen. All I remember is good candy, lots of fairs, topless girls at the pool and crappy weather. Take care,Ray

Hi Brianna,I believe the problem most newcomers have is not taking the time to truly learn their machine....they jump around from this detector to that one. I had a sovereign(bbs), a precursor to your machine. Keith nailed it....ya gotta go SLOW. Learn the tones. Learn to recognize the sound of a deep silver coin ( if thats what your after) . It took a while for me to get the hang of the soverei

Ive had a couple mxt's. Great build quality, little heavy, but balanced well, make sure you have the armstrap. I used it mainly for demo sites and prospecting. Demos.... Using the shooter coil and in relic mode, this is a very good unit. Dig any high signals in iron. Found a couple indians and a barber dime in this enviroment that id correctly and where in the 4-6 inch range.
Prospecting... I

If so,what are your thoughts...depth,stability,seperation? Im thinking of getting one to covermore ground. I know the 11 inch may seem better for that, but I hate swinging open coils in grass, brush, sticks, etc.

I believe it...guessing good clean soil...I dug an indian head an inch deeper than my lesche using a sovereign xs with old s-12 coi l. Saw a buddy dig a 15 inch walker using an explorer on clean lake tahoe sand. Minelab kicks butt.

Thanks Keith,I was leaning toward the at due to your past comments about it in bad dirt. Also my son will use it too at times, and it probably be a better fit. Im sure Ill end up with both ,but hard to justify to mama getting two new detectors at once,if ya know what I mean. Thanks again,Ray

Or anyone else who has extensive experience with both. Heres my situation, Im relic/ coin hunting in calif.motherload. very mineralized ground, lots of red clay. By some of the mine sites and old homesites its the perverbial carpet of nails. Ive been using the gb pro with 5 inch coil for the nail bed,but would like another option for that,as well as being able to cover more ground with bigger coil
