There is no easy, magic wand to find only silver and gold. The minelabs May be the best for deep turf silver, but no matter what, you gotta pay your dues and.learn your machine. I found 3 silver dimes with the ATPro yesterday, but I worked for them. Good luck, and don't expect toouch, just enjoy the hobby, and learn your detector.

What Tom said. Round up.every piece of gold you and your family have ,and play with it. If you have a big enough selection, try to figure where the majority ids at,and concentrate in that zone. Good luck!

I was thinking along the lines ofa gb pro,at pro or a good Tesoro would compliment the GT. I love the GBPro...its simple, smooth, ground balance easy, very accurate I.d.,works great in iron. Depth on coins is about 5-6 inches tops in my soil in disc, but the I'd is still pretty good. All metal is pretty.impressive, and still has is. Oh,and its light as hell and pinpoints great, with that little

Wow!!! Very nice find Kevin. Your in Tennessee right? Even better out there. Out here in Cali,g.c. are more common, but still a very rare find. I've only got one in eleven years, and I only know of one dallar coin being found out here,so again, way to go bud!!! As for value,go to pcgs price guide...it shows its likely between $300-$350 today. Obviously, being gold,it can change rather abrubtly.

Using a shovel in a park is bad for our image. No matter how neat you are,the nosy sidewalk supervisor types will take offense and assume you are destroying the park. I like to keep a low profile, hunt early a if possible. Often,if I feel I'm being watched by a busy body,I'll mark a signal and wait for them too leave before diggin.

Hey guys,I'm in the gold country of NoCal. A lot of these little towns will have a bookstore. I like to look in the local history section. Been able to find quite a few good books written on very localized areas, that are usually written by an old timer who grew up there. Found a lot of good spots this way. The good thing around here,is often its National Forest. I know this isn't earth

When I detect parks,I usually try to locate the densest trash areas, and concentrate there with a hockey puck coil...most the easy stuff is picked over, but most avoid the worst areas.
