Simple....they could have been working on new timings that wouldn't benefit the gold prospector. PI machines aren't sensitive to micro size gold anyway...thus is the selling point for the GPX 5000 with its Fine Gold timing. Everybody that gold prospects is raving about that particular timing being worth the upgrade from previous GPX models. The current Coin/Relic timing that they put

Oh it is a great unit but nevertheless, it does have its problems in bad ground unless you utilize the all metal portion of it. Where most people get in trouble is trusting ID numbers and tones anyway. There is a ton of audio info that you can acquire from the all metal side of the T2 and F75. They are one of the very few units that actually have a very very huntable all metal mode in them...ve

If this is true and it has just a couple of the GPX timings...such as Sharp and Normal...with the iron reject...look out relic world. I will own one as soon as they come out at that price. No questions asked. I would preorder one today and then you'll see ole Daniel from Tennessee kick in the afterburners and be gone digging lol.

Well...I could have saved you some $ on this one. Great relic machine but just like the F75...in red dirt it is going to be inaccurate on target IDs. Coins past 6 inches or so....automatically go down to iron range. Motion all metal is the way to go with it.

Well beggars can't be choosy...at least it's free info without any bias.
I've used the 15" white and didn't like it very much. Heavy and unbalanced and no much gain in depth on coin size objects in comparison to the 11" DD. The depth really increases on the larger items like belt plates.
The better alternative is the SEF 12x15 or maybe the new Detech Ulti

Been doing a lot of hunting here lately...hooked up with a local fella that he and I have been sharing knowledge on things. I'm good for the Civil War thing and he is more of into the native American artifacts and just getting into metal detecting...in which I'm just now getting into.
Anyway here are my finds from yesterday hunting a new little spot. With my knowledge of where th

I'm in awe at the power of the storms themselves but when neighbors are needing help, it's not the time to go get googly eyed over their devastation. I don't even know the people but I know that next time it could just as easily be ME in their shoes and I'd like somebody to help me. I can't help but stop and look around sometimes at the power....just an EF2 but seeing a

Don't know about hurricanes but two yrs in a row in TN we've had thet worst outbreaks of Tornados in over 40 yrs. I just got back in and showered from helping clean up trees and debris in a local community that got hit by an EF2 just a couple weeks ago....it missed following the same path of another EF2 by just a couple miles that hit last year. Still too many sight seeing folks...they

You still ain't ventured to the pulse machines. They are the red dirt answer. You can find you a Whites TDI, get you a smaller coil for it, and be amazed. I have a video somewhere of me hitting a 7" silver dime with a 5 inch RazorBack coil....I've had $1,000 vlf machines with much larger coils that couldn't do that with any kind of a signal...the eTrac would only make an ir

There are two tools that consistently successful hunters must have...and you can't really buy either one of them.
1. New sites.
2. Ability to "read" a site.
A good metal detector is only part of the equation. Just owning the "best" hammer and saw that money can buy, wont build a house for you.
Good research and knowledge is priceless. Far too many people only

My problem is that I can't stand for somebody to curse me. In person when it happens its usually the first and last time they do it cause I come Unglued. When they do it from behind a computer keyboard I still come Unglued but I can't jump through the screen...all I can do is smash the keyboard harder when I type a reply. lol

It is pretty decent on blanking/nulling on small iron like square nails....the 4500 and 5000 both could null on them down to 10-12 inches. The catch is that if you use more iron disc on it, then everything deeper wants to break up and you'll begin passing deep non ferrous things thinking they are iron....I'm talking 12-18 inch things like bullets. I always ran mine about mid range. Seem

Nope, videos will be phasing out. They are too much work just to have people run them down and all the crap that goes with it. I'll be thinning down the forum posts too. Same reasons. I reckon its time to get back to the basics.

My buddy Richard in Tennessee just became a Deus dealer too. His shop is about an hour north of me and his first shipment of them will be there Tuesday. Richard hunts the same red dirt as me and has good dirt around as well. I told him to let me know what he thinks and that I would ride up and take a look at one myself. Since we're all so "prove it" and too skeptical to buy one sig

Please keep these smaller eTrac coil reviews coming. Looks like I will be keeping my eTrac and I'm in the market for a smaller coil for it myself. I've only tried the 8" SunRay on it...I had one back when I had an Explorer II and it was my primary coil with that particular machine. However on the eTrac I wasn't that enthused with it and preferred the stock Pro coil.

Yep Kevin is good to deal with. He sent me notification of him shipping a previous detector to me, along with its tracking number. The next day UPS was knocking on my door with the detector. Due in part that we are both in Tennessee...but he does what he says he'll do and the machines are described very well. I couldn't even tell the Omega I bought from him had been used...just as he

Awesome machine. What do you want to know and I will try to help. I don't know of another detector that can go as deep as it can in any soil type. Coin size objects 18-20 inches with the 11" DD coil with gain at factory preset....which is middle of the road.
The battery configuration is difficult to get use to....don't like the harness thing and an extra cord to get tangled up

LOL yeah I seem to have an unintentional and sometimes troublesome ability to rile people up. I remember one semester we had a debate class and we would take random topics and divide up into teams. Two teams were given a topic, and one side had to be on this certain side of the topic...and the other of course, on the other side. The objective was to be like Cool Hand Luke and discuss the topic

I didn't buy an AT Pro to try because of Tom's posts or any other post on the Internet. I got one because I personally knew some of the people on the testing team of it and know and trust their opinions.
Regarding the original question about Andy and the Deus....that's still a simple yes or no question. I don't want to hear your thoughts on why he would sell the Deus....I&

If I were to guess I'd say it wont be very long when metal detecting will cease to exist....a relic in itself. If you think about it, it's like we are in the last days of it now. Modern development continues to destroy thousands of acres of historic ground....and coins and relics along with them. Land is the one thing that they ain't making any more of and people could care less

The CoinStrike is a fun machine....albeit cumbersome in menu changes. I think the better option there might be the ID Edge....basically the same thing but a Tad better menu changes and about the same depth.
I wish they made a DD coil for the CoinStrike...and wish it had an option for the number of tones....I hate having more than 2 tones on a machine. I know some love it but I like having the

The SEF 12X15 is quite a bit lighter than the Fisher 15" DD. The 12x10 isn't worth the $ for the difference....I would actually go with the 11" DD coil over the SEF 12x10....there is quite a difference between the 5x10 concentric (stock coil) and the 8.5x11 DD coil (stock on the F75)....I was quite happy with the muscle it gave the F70 for an all around every day coil.

Someone brought up a good point about Andy....that being, have you ever seen him give a bad report on a detector? Food for thought. The few that are shouting the praises for the Deus just so happen to be dealers for it....sponsors to Findmall as well. Yep I will say its the best thing since toilet paper too, if I am making money on selling it lol

TerraDigger -- New to the Omega (just came yesterday) but has similar feel as a T2/F75. At any rate, here ya go:
3 bars on the Fe meter and ground balance number of 51.
I'm not sure what all that means but that's what I have in my yard and it is tame compared to some of the places around here. I was very surprised I couldn't get the silver quarter in the all metal modes th

Mark -- Yep I would agree but it's just the dirt that does it. It will just about peg an FE meter on the T2/F75...but there aren't any man made iron bits or pieces in it. Just plain natural red iron dirt.

I just came out from my yard to do a new test garden item...a silver US quarter...at a measured 8" exactly.
I know with it being fresh buried that it has the "air gap" thing. But I was surprised that none of my current machines could get it no matter what I did. Interesting. eTrac with stock coil and gain at 30...open screen, deep on, trash dens low....not even a peep. Ome

My eTrac will do that in open ground with no iron targets around it....the ground itself will cause it to do that in open screen. Once you hit the 6" deep mark in depth, everything begins to pull down towards the iron reading.
I will say this...I encountered my best dirt I've hunted since having the eTrac. It wanted to run 22-24 in Auto mode and became a new detector so to speak.

The coil heaviness is a design on purpose. If you hunt in water with it you will see why they made it coil heavy. It could actually stand to be a bit heavier for water hunting. If you've never done it...water hunting is a full body workout lol Hunting 2-3 hrs in water is more physical than 12 hours on land in steep uphill and downhill terrain. Light coils float up in the water and are har

Man, if you guys think the eTrac is heavy...you would have never made it with the original Explorer and then Explorer II and its stock coil lol. The eTrac is light as a feather compared to those. The GPX is actually balanced better but the heavy part to it is the battery pack which is worn on a harness. And the T2/F75 with the white 15" DD coil is more off balance than the eTrac as well.
