Going to give micro jewelry hunting a try. I figure a sift will save me a lot of hassle trying to pinpoint tiny targets.
I am thinking of using a gold panning classifier as a sift, what size of holes will allow beach sand through but still catch earring backs, etc?
Thanks,
Drew.

I tested a CZ 3D in a local detector shop recently with a plastic ruler and three targets glued to paint stir sticks.
Targets used were a men's 10 Karat gold ring, silver Canadian dime and a silver "fishscale" 5 cent piece, what would equate as a half dime in American coinage.
All three only went to 6" before dropping out.
This result was weird as I know the CZ's are

I have owned two of them and still have the Pro, not all pro which is just a new decal, I won't part with it if that tells you something.
I like this version for the tone id feature and back light.
Only wish is that it had a volume control as I some times use a Uniprobe head phone pin pointer and target volume vs pin point volume is quite a ways apart.
I mainly use the 6x10 eclipse coil

Well fellas' that's a better tone AT LAST!
Let's all concentrate on our shared values as like minded folks on a forum that connects us!
To all those who are died in the wool detectorists, how about we concentrate on our common interest in the hobby and forego picking fault with one another?
If you all haven't really got to know Brandon, he is an asset to us as a group; he

Kind of like politics that way Doc. T, when you are out of the power position you complain about everything the party who is in power does.
If/when you are elected you face the same challenges that you b*&%#ed at the previous party for not fixing, then you can't fix them either....
Same as it ever was.

Nothing wrong with analog. Look at the come back of tube amplifiers, and vinyl in audio, more warmth in the sound it produces.
Analog has its own special cachet. If you like digital great, if you like analog great.
They both work and it comes down to individual preference, and what is fun for the person on the end of that machine.

Thanks Guys,
I figured it did, seems to be the way they are going these days.
Stops 3rd party coil production and keeps the profits in house.$$$$

My surgical kit:
Good ole Leshe tool, ground cloth, brass probe, and a rounded off slot screwdriver with a rare earth neodymium magnet glued in top of handle for the tiny iron bits.
Might have to add forceps...

Everything that I find interesting and with some age, old toys, dog licenses, militaria, the unusual and exotic.
At some point I will build some shadow boxes and display what I like best and then I will probably do a purge.
Cheers,

I had the pleasure, (NOT!), of meeting "the employee of the month".
He stopped his garbage truck against flow of traffic facing the wrong way at the curb in the oncoming lane and with a goofy fixed grin on his face he walked over to tell me MD'ing wasn't allowed in our parks."You aren't allowed to do that"!
I explained to him that I had called the Parks offic

Hi All,
Do any of the Makro Kruzer series users know the make and model and part # of the headphone connector on the stock WP phones?
Or alternatively could someone who has a pair PM me a picture of the connector end view and side view?
Working on getting improved phones.
Thanks,
Drew.

I guess the old WW2 catchphrase "loose lips sink ships" is probably applicable to our hobby.
It seems that the more publicity metal detecting gets the more negative attention is drawn from bored bureaucrats with nothing better to do than write up bylaws without taking any time to look into what we do and how the majority do it.
"What, you say these people are digging in our par

Hi Dew,
Not trying to step on any toes with my post, as stated I am getting the SuperBlues for land for both units. Mal has stated that his phones are not for divers and if I read Clive right I think he is in the market for diving phones for use with a hood.
I will direct quote what Mal told me in his reply to me:
With the headphones will you be in the water or not as determines the type

Hi Clive,
I have been in contact with Mal and am getting a set of his SuperBlues phones for CTX and Nox.
I asked Mal about his SurfFones in regard to their applications for water hunting and he says they are "water resistant", they are designed for wading applications and safe for an inadvertent dunking or splash but not for snorkeling or diving. Currently he has ones that connect dir

Hey Lawrenzo,
I've seen that you were one of the early adopters of the Impact, I also have read that you have been requesting an update for it.
What do you find lacking that you want to see improved via an update?
Looks like you have done pretty well with it from watching your videos.
Cheers,
Drew.
