Looking for current or former users opinions on these two old warhorses.
I want to hear the good the bad & the ugly, best & worst attributes, success stories, horror stories, let's hear em.
Thanks,
Drew.

Hi Mike,
Your old Rutus is off to merry olde England for the update.
Be interesting to try it out upon return.
I think that unit will be easier for me to use personally with the more familiar -90 to +90 VDI scale.
I suffer from "Detectoritis", (the abnormal desire to try every detector ever made), with a number of units on hand to choose from, my cure is to force myself to use only

DeepTech are listening, message them & let them know what you want for North America, more interest/demand faster things will happen.
Cheers,

Hi 1ptr58,
Fellow Canuck here; I have the EQ 800 and a couple of the Nok/Mak machines, both are good units.
For steel clad coins Nok/Mak have a pretty good intrinsic ability to respond, EQ800 needs the horseshoe on for iron response and it will take longer IMO to learn the subtle "tells" our clad produces. I think if you want to water hunt either an EQ800 or Anfibio will give you ma

Why just use a semi-auto to hunt?
Get you an Apache attack copter with FLIR and chain gun, no deer gonna get away.
OK tongue in cheek
Browning .308 Tactical Varmint, Nightforce 5x15 lighted reticle scope, mostly punch paper these days..

Drew.

Just chewin my cud here,
I wonder if either or both the Equinox and/or XP Deus could run a concentric coil??
Does the design of the machine exclude operation with different coil construction?
I would find it very interesting to see these units with 6" ,7", or 8" concentric coil hunting a trashy site.

True that Ozzie,
As Tom has pointed out you have to start with a known "control" as a benchmark.
I bought a 1200lb rated rare earth magnet for sanitizing and magnet fishing.
Cheers,
Drew.

I am planning my test plot layout over this winter and I will be including common trash items, co-located good & bad targets at various depths and separation distances, and a selection of old and modern coins.

Hi NASA Tom,
Any chance you will make a short presentation DVD, or an online video to introduce, explain, demonstrate the MDT 8000?
Cheers,
Drew.

Let this Tesoro tirade go, it is a pointless exercise CD,
Listen and absorb what a healthy percentage of your peers are saying:
OK you don't like Tesoro detectors, well, people all have there own opinions, likes, dislikes, political bent, religion, choice of vehicle, choice of make & model, preference in women, (or men?) blonde, brunette or redhead, skinny or curvy, hunting preference

Well, I for one certainly can't complain about my experience with Nokta Makro detectors,
Every one of them has performed very well as advertised, (not always the case with detectors).
Ain't seen even a hiccup from any of my Nok/Mak units, & not in a hurry to sell my FORS Relic anytime soon either.
Some units you just bond with, others you can part with and try something new, so

Per NASA Tom's "silent masking" scenario,
I recently tested a number of detectors, FTP CZ-3D & F75 75 year edition, (no DSP), Whites DFX & TDI SL, , Garrett GTI 2500 & AT Max, all were tested for air distance audio using sample targets glued to paint stir sticks as follows; a silver Canadian dime 92.5% silver, Canadian 5 cent piece,92.5% silver, (same composition as

Retired from day job as an Arborist Superintendent after 34+ years working for City of Vancouver BC, (up here in Canada), 25 of them in charge of looking after 12 out of 22 neighborhoods and park hazard trees.
Now semi-retired & running my private tree service company, working for whoever, where and when I wish.
Oh yeah, retired in 2017 at 57, climbing the big West coast trees keeps you you

OK, I may be a rare hunter, not really sure, but personally, I love digging nickels.
Since I was a little kid I had a certain fascination with our Canadian 12 sided 5 cent coins.
I am always looking for another twelve sider or Tombac from WW 2 so I dig a lot of potential nickel signals, even in school yards and parks so naturally a lot of ring and pry tabs too.
Oh and the series immediately af

Thanks Mike,
I don't think an F75 would be my go to for cache hunting, there are more specific machines that have that area covered, probably one of the reasons the old Garrett GTI 2500 is still around sold with their Eagle Eye two box.
I love the F75 for general use for their exceptional ergos.
May have to give a F75+ a shot somewhere down the line.
Cheers,
Drew.

So what is America good for Dan? Inquiring minds want to know.
Representing the best of what a country, a people ,a duly elected government, a society can be.
Oh, and everything that comes out of that.
