It also could be that the Omega is capable of higher sensitivity capabilities than the Deus, so sensitivity percentages would be moot in this case. Further testing (air tests) regarding sensitivity percentages of each machine should be done. As an example, from another user:
"I know air tests don't say a lot but I did air tests on all of my machines...G2 at full sensitivity don'

Depth with accuracy is becoming more of a big deal in my neck of the woods (Idaho). That's why the Trac reigns supreme for coinhunting out here. Even though I own the Omega.

Like I posted on FMall. Compare various machines in a test garden (to Tom D's standards) at the same time with single/co-located targets. Won't cover all the bases one would find in the field, but it a good accurate starting point for comparison.

I think, as has been discussed here before, that FTP needs to go over 'all' their technology...new/old (Fisher) and combine this into new models. Plus some basic easy to do upgrades like uploading & retaining settings in memory/backlights/wireless etc.

Diggin, using the Omega which is very similar to the F70. The 11" DD coil gets about 1/2" to 1" more depth in airtesting than the 10" Concentric, depending on the coin being tested. These are my machines test results only. However, the concentric does alot better job of accurate discrimination especially in regards to anything made of iron. Alot less target verification needed

I have paid for two machines in last 20 yrs. When I started in the early 80's I paid for 4 machines in 3 yrs. Realized early it was a losing deal financially to hop from machine to machine. A upgrade every 5-10 yrs may be worth the technology.....but not on a annual basis IMHO.

Tom.....are you saying a detector needs to have threshold adjustment capability to do the auto-tune method? Which would eliminate my Omega.

Tom D......."The all-metal (auto-tune) mode of today's modern metal detectors can be better than yesteryears beep-dig units. A learning curve is needed; yet, these newer generation units are quite good"
Is the Omega a strong contender in the above quote? Actually a list of all units you feel have this capability would be helpful. Also, any tips/how to's regarding auto-tune

Dan, what are some of the units (new & old) you think allow for theses types of audio nuances? I am interested, as I am sure many others are to.

I think (could be wrong) crosstalk interference can exceed 50ft. Tom D. addressed this issue in a past post. Maybe he will offer his insight on this question again.
Minelab multi-frequency machines seem to interfere with alot of different mfg's units. But it can be solved by putting the non-Minelab unit in pinpoint mode while the Minelab does the noise cancellation procedure while standindi

Lil John, can you give us the email address to Nat G you used. That way all of our mails will go to same person and not be scattered. More effective that way. And remember forum members, unless you email Nat G, your complaining here only, will not help our hobby. Thanks to all who email their views !!!

I am thinking Blisstool also.........but only if the dealer will offer you a full money back guarantee if it doesn't 'fully' perform to its stated abilities. If its as good as Blisstool dealers are touting, then they should have no issue with full refund. If its as good as they say and it gets favorable reviews from you (an experienced detectorist) here, they will be most likely be

I am not an electronics engineer, however I am a computer repair tech. Bet my bottom dollar that if FTP paid a extra $50.00 per unit for 'quality' components with consistent tight operating spec's.......these machines would be flying off the assembly line.......even with a small price increase per unit. Units from the factory that would consistently get the depths that Tom can achi
