Makes me happy I own an Omega I was curious though. Since the AT Pro is a obvious re-design of the Omega, does it perform similarly in Daniel's particular nasty red dirt as the Omega?

Daniel, another question.
11"DD
"8" silver quarter = jumpy signal...iron to high tone chirp about once out of 5 passes over it"
What are the VDI number 'ranges' you refer to as jumpy?
And was the Omega dropping down to iron approximately only once per 5th pass, but then staying in the non-iron 'jumpy' ranges rest of sweeps?
Bear with my anal que

Daniel, thank you for the time & effort to do the testing. I rarely come across any Omega testing in heavily mineralized soil. So your testing is valuable to me. What is the price of this coil? I read the earlier posts about KellCo prices and the difficulty of ordering this coil from overseas.

Welcome!! You will get your answers. Lots of owners here of the aforementioned detectors. I own the Omega (with the 11" DD coil), so I will not comment. Although you did mention your primarily a coinshooter (hint, hint). As I am.

Tom, I would like to see Dr. JoePrime test his Deus (nickle/dime) in wet salt sand that has significant mineralization. If I remember correctly he detects in Southern California. Dr. Joe, you up for a little testing??? Congrats on that big gold ring

Well, how you got on has me stumped. Just did a "ipconfig /flushdns" command. Tried my browser bookmark and also typed in www.findmall.com into search engine. No luck getting on. Unless the site is not fully re-loaded yet and only some members are getting access at this time (educated guess).
7:46pm MST - I just pinged Findmall server. All it does is time-out. Which means its not acces

Del,
BTW....I was running my sens at 90 on the Omega with the 11" DD yesterday...smooth as butter in regards to EMI/ground mineralization......I am about 75 miles from you. 6" deep wheats were screaming....sort to speak. Got a silver dime too...about 5".

Connortn...do you detect red dirt like Daniel TN does? If so, it would be interesting to compare both field experiences. The AT Pro design is, let's say, uncannily similar to the Omega design.

Best TID....White's 6000Di Series 3....man, that meter was awesomely accurate. Being a hipmount I could really whip that coil....which was a big factor in its TID capabilities.
Daniel TN.....question....in your 'red' dirt, are you using GG or manual ground balancing? Or does it even make any difference with the 11" DD. I forgot to ask....what disc was the Omega at for the q

I agree with the 5" recommendation. When I had the T2 (powerful like the F75/LTD)....I found out by trial & error that the 5" coil was the way to initially learn the machine. The large DD coil is too powerful to intially learn on IMHO. And yes, that little 5" coil goes deep. Its actually my favorite coil.

Dan...you may be somewhat restricted from the field (I am truly saddened by that). But you better stay here with us Your experience and well....just being the guy that you are...is not something we want to lose.
Last 2 yr's with my severely messed up back gives me experience of how health issues impact this hobby of ours. Monte over at FMall uses a cane while detectecting if I am not mista

9" on 1940 U.S. nickle (nothing else in hole). Teknetics T2. Max disc was being used (Tom D. explained how that could happen with nickel). Stock 11" DD coil. Grass turf in front of library. Soil mineralization was high (Idaho)

The nickel trick on the Garrett pinpointer. Sliding/holding a nickle by hand in the field, doesn't work well. Here's an idea for those that have a garage with tools. I don't. Permanently attach a plastic 'slide' device with nickle/piece of metal attached to it, on the Garrett. Then all one does is use thumb to slide nickle/piece of metal up & down as needed, to incre

Always a nice treat to scam a few of those non-existent coins with a small coil. Good job. And thanks for the reminder on the slower sweep speed. I have a tendency to forget about that in the heat of the moment when using my small coil.

"I would expect First Texas engineers have a pretty good idea how XP achieve the 'reactivity' control, and they could have included it in their products, but decided to just chose a sensible 'mid-value', and optimised the rest of the design to suit. "
Maybe its the other way around...and it was Deus who scoped out First Texas.
