I know a few of you guys have inquired about Rare Earth (neo-dyminium) magnets, and where to get them. I have purchased thousands of them from Magnet City in N.C.
They specialize in all kinds of magnets, industrial, crafts, proto-typing ect.
Ask for Hector. Tell him Aaron the Blade Lock guy sent you.

Genarally speaking you want to run any machine as high as you can with out problems from EMI, falsing, ect. As far as the 3D is concerned, its pretty much a well know fact on this forum that a properly tuned 3D does not need the sensitivity any higher than what you had mentioned. Doesn't matter if you put up to 10 it won't go any deeper. Regarding the LTD, I usually can't run it an

Using a little shovel like Tom uses is definately easier.I bought and I found it a lot easier. And I know its better for the grass however there are some parks that really frown on that. I just bought a lesche sampson shovel, it has a smaller blade on it, and it works great too and a little more inconspicuous.

Great post Tom, thanks.
If history tells us one thing its that all economic systems backed by "fiat-currency" have all failed. Make way for the "Amero"!

Nice post dahut. Real interesting. I've always wanted to find a gold coin. The $1 coin is so tiny not much bigger than the top of a pencil eraser. Anyone here ever found one besides Tom?

I agree the silver coins in the older parks are far and few between however, in my favorite park I've been hunting in for almost 25yrs now, I still seem to find it, and even in the most obvious places. And were not talkin deep either, I found 3 mercs a silver Washington and indian head. All were around 5 inches. The silver wasn't even in a real trashy area. The indian however was and wa

My buddy and I were hunting at a school built in the 50's yesterday. We found lots of clad but no silver or even wheaties. The weird thing was some of the coins I found were really deep, like dimes at 8 inches minted in the late ninetys. I was using my LTD and every time I would get a deep signal only to discover it would be a modern coin. I was running it in boost for a while but it was jus

I was hunting in my favorite old park yesterday after work with the LTD and decided to try out the little 5inch coil in a heavily infested pulltab area. The weather was beautiful and I was determined to find a gold ring. The little coil really works great at getting in between the trash. Although I didn't get that gold ring after 4 hours and 62 pulltabs and various other kinds if trash I did

I am really impressed with my new LTD. I wasnt expecting the construction to be so good. Its really light and the balance is perfect. It is however very different from my other machines so its a little challenging to get used too. I had a chance to spend a bunch of time with it this weekend and found alot of coins with it in a couple school yards. I am totally impressed with the speed this machin

Hi I bought a new foam grip for my 3D from Fisher and I can't seem to get it to stick on the pole. I tried hair spray, that always works for my bicycle grips but not for the 3D.Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I felt I was missing out on something with all the raving you guys have been doing with the LTD so I pulled the trigger on a mint "camo" one with 3 hours on it. I'm hoping it will be a good addition to my CZ/1200 arsenal. Better late than never!
Happy Hunting!

I recentley purchased a #1021 3D and had it sent to Tom for some minor repairs and calibration. He found it to be a real hot machine that air tests a dime at 12". I finally got to take it out to my favorite old park, the same one I have been bringing the MAGNUM too. Last night my hunting buddys and I were all there and it was dark and just past 8pm, only had been there a few minutes and was
