Being mostly a park hunter I like the idea of a coin check button, kind of like dual discrimination, I also like the low profile of the 7 inch coil as well.

I have been reading a lot about these detectors and one just popped up for sale so I got it. There are a lot of lofty claims about it and I wanted to see for myself. I'm sure a few of you guys have used them and may have some input on how well they perform. It has the 7 inch coil on it. I plan on doing a couple videos on it when I get it. I read Tesoro built the X2 and Fisher built the rest

I think I have seen people use dowsing rods to find underground water on their property to figure out where to dig a well. Don't know if that actually works, seems far fetched.

For some reason as of now the link won't go to the video so just go to youtube and type in " Monte's nail board test colonial style " and it should pop up.

Des google " Tesoro hot technology" and you will find out about it, I guess it is designed into the black models of Cibola, Vaquero, Tejon, and Lobo. the ones with 4 pin connectors.

I just ordered a Tesoro Cibola Black edition with the H.O.T. circuitry because I got a good deal on it, but I don't really want another beep and dig so I would like to trade it for a DFX possibly, or just sell it for 295.00. It will be new in the unopened box. It has the 9x8 concentric coil on it. email coinspader@gmai

Hey thanks Hombre for your input on this coil, I hope it is functional and gives my little Classic III plus a boost. I already really like the Classics and it will be interesting to see if this coil adds to the separation and depth of mine. It's nice just to have a rare coil to try out. Can't wait to get it.

Well Des it read 12 volts when I first turned it on and I hunted with it a few times before it started acting up, it still says 11 volts on the display.

It is telling me it is at 11 volts when I turn it on but that thought had occurred to me the first time I heard it. I am hoping that it is something simple like that. I'll change out the batteries and see if it makes a difference. Yeah when it happens it blows my ears out.

I recently acquired an MXT tracker E series and I have been taking it out daily to get to know it. Now this evening I had it out to hunt a couple hours and it all of a sudden went into an over load, it did this even in the air, I turned it off and back on again and that seemed to work for a bit and then it did the same thing again. I went thru this a couple times so my question is it because I h

Thanks for the input Monte, the fact that it will sound off on everything might be hard on the ears without a way to reduce the sound of the iron grunts. Might not be an ideal machine for coin shooting in a trashy park.

Monte is a metal detecting Icon in my opinion, He has a wealth of information on many different detectors and I always search for his posts when I want know about them.

Do any of you wise gentlemen know if the stock meter on a Sovereign XS-2 Pro is resistant to rain? I have a hip mount bag for the control box but the meter is on the stem and I need to know if I have to remove it to hunt in the rain.
