I'd like to add a question to this thread if I may.
Headphones, how important are good headphones. I have a set of Sun Ray Pros but hardly ever use them as they are hot and make the tips of my ears hurt after a while. I usually use a chaep set of headphones that sit on my ears and are light. It seem's to me that I am hearing everything. I am using an F75, a Tejon, and a Cortes.

I will try the humidity thing. I am not sending it back, at least not for a while. I like it too much! If I have to reset it a couple of times in a day, i really don't mind. The first time it happened I had some notches on and the second time I had changedsome other stuff, went into JE etc, but had changed back to DE and it stayed a little edgy. I changed the stock batterien to Oxyrides and

Tom,
I have a new f75 and I already like it much better than my T2 however, I am having a probelm with chatter. When I started out everything was quiet, after a while of hunting there was chatter. I tried lowering the sens and it just chattered quieter, not less. I am in DE, 1 or 4 tone (really all the tone settings do it, disc at 6.
I thought it was because I had some notch setting on.

Thanks, I re-read my manual day before yesterday and there were a couple of things that i had missed or forgetten about. Probably because I was in a hurry to start using it when I got it. I have put it in my truck and am using the tips in the manual ata place I know that is infested with "Bud Light" bottle caps. I know there has got to be some coinage in and among the caps. I only had a

Thanks Tom, you are SO helpful. I posted a link to this over on Findmall.
If you ever get up to Cartersville/Kennesaw/Marietta... please let me know in advance and i'll take you to a couple of places if you have time. I just got my T2 back from BH for service and they really overhauled it, relaced re-soldered, replaced the grip and the coil, calibrated it. It may as well be a new machine.

I sent my T2 back to FT because I had a short in the coil cable connector and could not GB. I had the original box and sent it last week. They got it Friday. I called today to check on it and was told that they replaced the coil, the toggle switch, the foam on the handle, and added new stickers to it, and that it has already been shipped back to me!
Very good indeed, I cannot wait to get it ba

I have used one for over a year and thought that the only difference in the settings was the number of tones. I realize there is a difference to 3b and DP. I am confused as to why one tone is better that 2+ for relic hunting in iron. You said to use one tone and set the disc at 21. I understand that will disc out a bit of the iron nut I don't understand why that is better then using 2+ and s

Thanks, I re-read it and it does answer my question. I am more uncertain than ever about which machine to buy. I want both of them. I saw that NTom wrote that the Explorer lead's the pack in really nasty ground, that make's me wonder if I should be trying to use my SovereignGT a little more on this particulary bad site I hunt. I just really hate to swing that slow but I am going to try

Thanks, I was kinda thinking via the keyboard, trying to decide. For some reason I cannot get the CZ3D out of my mind. I know how good the T2 is. I got mine last summer in prep for the 2006 GNRS hunt and used it exclusively for several months so I would know it. If the F75 is really a good bit better, it is an awesome machine. However, I need to know more about 3D as far as a coinshooter, I will

What do you mean when you say this: "CZ-3D has many 'human intelligence' advantages over T2/F75.... but certainly not in iron".?
Would you choose the 3D over the 75 in places that are not so badly infested with nails and hot rocks? I think the biggest problem around here is the ground itself. I am sure you have hunted in NW GA, but we have the worst of the worst here. In Ba

I know I should probably just go with the F-75 since I mostly hunt relics and that almost always mean's iron... but I cannot get the 3D out of mind. There are also al ot of older sites around here that are not as trashy and I do love to find the old coins.
I could keep the T2 and the Tejon for relics, the Sovereign for when I want something heavy that nulls all the time, and get the 3d to

Does that apply to those who have a year on the T2? It sound's like there is a lot to learn on the 75. I am going to order one next week. I am curious to see how it stacks up against the T2.

is that true? One site I have been working hard for over a year read's 3.0 mineralization on most of it. There is iron ore here plus LOTs of sq nails and over 150 years of trash and junk. Is it true that the T2 is better in these conditions? Also, this is a rocky hard caly hill and a lot of targets are shallow from erosion, I have found minnies and buttons on top of the ground but I have to

Thanks Tom. I am going to go get an F-75 tomorrow. How do I set the F75 so it will be best for older coins, (like the old coin setting on the CZ3D?)? I have a few other ites that aren't as bad with iron and I know there have to be more old coins there but I have had a hard time pulling them out, only one IH at one old yard, but I am sure there are more.
Thanks!!!

I have some questions about the CZ3D.
I live and mostly hunt in NWGA, I live in Cartersville and hunt here, Kennesaw, Marietta, and Atlanta. I mostly hunt for relics and more in yards than woods, maybe 60/40.
I also like to hunt for old coins and other stuff.
My current detectors are: a SovereignGT; A Tejon; and a T2.
I have sent my T2 in for service, there seem's to be a short in the
