Amazing find alert! How do I post pictures to show it off??

Hi everyone! I went for a short hunt yesterday to a place that I never find anything of value, until yesterday. My last signal was around a 32 on my Relic, so I decided to dig it because the numbers were more steady than the last 100 pieces of foil that I dug. I poked around with the pin pointer and finally grabbed a handful of dirt. Finally had the target in hand! I thought I had a play coin but in fact it was a 1911 1/4 eagle 2 1/2 dollar gold coin!!! Never in a million years would I have thought that I would find one! But now I don't know how to post pictures to my favorite forum! Help! This is one find that I NEED to share with all of you!

Do this...

Go to www.postimage.org.

Click on the "choose images" button.

A window will pop up that is a "file manager" type of menu, that will allow you to find, and select, the image from a location on your PC. Once you click on the image (wherever it resides on your PC), select "open."

Once you choose it, give it a few seconds, and the postimage website will display your image, and a bunch of links to your image to choose from, in different formats.

Choose the second link down, that says "direct link." Highlight the whole text that is in the "direct link" box (starting with []).

Then, come back here to the forum. Compose a "reply post" to your original post. Place your cursor in the "Message:" window, where you type your message (wherever the cursor is, is where your image will insert).

Next, look at the top of the "message composition" window here on the forum...and look at the buttons at the top of the "Message:" window, starting with B, then I, then U, etc. Select the tenth button over, the "instert image URL" button -- that looks like a picture of a mountain range, and the sun...

Paste the "direct link" you copied from postimage.org -- but notice that when clicking the "insert image URL" button, they include an http:// there for you. Since the link you copied from postimage.org already has an [], you don't need the one provided in the "insert image URL" button -- i.e. don't include http:// twice!

Voila! That should do it, and should allow us to all see this incredible find!!

Gee , that is soooo simple,.
Why don't you just post a pic on a different forum where it's designed to be easy and just provide a link like so many others here do?

Thrill of a lifetime for Big Pappa. You sir are now in the "U.S. gold coin, finders club"........tough club to get into.

May I inquire as to what part of the US you dug this Quarter Eagle? East coast, West coast ?............?

Actually, shoveler, it IS simple. Sounds WAY more complex than it is; I just tried to give detailed instruction for BIG PAPA, and for anyone else who might have trouble posting pics. Once you do it once, you see how simple it really is. He asked "how to post pics," and I answered...

Your method has 8 steps ,,,,,,,mine has 2

Sounds like a great find to me.
Congrats.

Try using tiny pic to load your pic here.

Once you upload your pic, you'll see link info.
Select the one for forums, copy that info int the line once your photo is loaded and paste here.

You can do a preview here to see if your pic posting process worked or not.

Thanks guys! It was the last hole of a short hunt before work. I definitely was NOT expecting to see gold pop out of the hole. But it was a solid 32ish on my Fors Relic so I figured I would dig one more hole. And Bam!!

That's a beautiful find! I haven't found one of those yet, or a half Eagle, Eagle, or Double Eagle. I'd better get going, I'm falling behind.

What details can you give us, without giving away any of your secrets? Part of the country? State? City? Type of location (public park, private yard, whatever?) Depth?

Just an outstanding find, and good job on your part to use your ears and your mind to make a "dig" decision, especially after digging a bunch of other low-tone junk that would try your patience!

BTW check that under a loupe, the 1911D is the key date in the series, and they made a "weak D" so might need to examine it under magnification to check.
