"I had a borrowed one for a few weeks.
Wanted to give it another whirl last used it fall of 2005
I returned it sooner than expected due to some mild frustration with its poor depth on open
grassland and very below w average ferrous discrimination.
I'm afraid Tesoro are late to the party as most of the competition are metered machines
with good iron disc and iron audio and V brea

"I have loads of coils both New and Used but.....
The 'butt' is, I'm in Ireland."
You'll have to get the coil wired in and the Minelab boys won't do the job for you.
I've heard of fights about the topic.
Find yoursel a good repair guy!

mrb,
It's uncannily quiet in Beach Mode over salt wet sand AND in salt water!!
Very 'multi-freq" in its behaviour
But don't waste time with the Tone Modes over wet
Just bang into Beach
All metal can be ok too...

I'm swinging a V3 again after many years.
Back in 2009 I had terrible EMI issues with it.
I acquired an Eclipse 950 coil and went back to a few areas where I had the problems and voila...no issues!
Heard the E Series coil better for salt beach use too!

"No, it's not a patented system but they do own the 'proprietary software' that runs the Noise Cancel system they operate through their patented FBS system software'...confusing, yes, no?
Here's a bit on Noise Cancel written on the subject when it first debuted to the world:
NOISE CANCEL
Just what is going on when we press NOISE CANCEL and what is it doing?

"You're right Goodmore...spot on using a combo of teccies + coils to tame a site.
My experience leads me to seeing unexpected results has more to do with coils than detectors.
Why so? Windings and their detect patterns can change things dramatically and unmask."

Had a similar experience in the pool area in my house on Longboat Key.
Snake actually tried to get out a crack in the wall but couldn't find it.
What did he do but jumped into the pool and crossed it by swimming and having never seen that
before it freaked me out!
Anyway he was cornered and did just what your snake did raised himself up and.was about
to lunge forward and I whacked him

"Though I have yet to switch ON a 'Core' my answer to the Q would be Yes"
If the "Racer" knocked my socks off in Explorer test patches then I wouldn't hesitate to say that so will the FORS Core?"
I'll tell you for sure in the Fall, when I get to test it!"

"Hah...I don't have that problem of Xtreme heat here in the Northern Hemisphere...a hot day is 83F...
But, I think Keith's Top Tips of (a) wear a hat (b) hydrate are spot on.
When I visit the USA on my vacations I like to shop for "stuff" you can't get here such as those "Columbia" shirts that have a kind of mesh inside...absolutely great for wicking

Steve,
In the Explorer Series most coins were detected on a 'tilted' line that curved diagonally across the screen from bottom to top right.
The main issue with the Explorer was it's [ Iron Mask ] feature didn't provide "accurate rejection" of Ferrous targets.
This was due to the fact that the Iron Mask adjustment and the "Coins Line" were misaligned.

Good question!
With the Velox One, I took to it real quick!
The big snag was finding a decent headphone to suit.
Can't remember what I did find but am thinking might have been a set of "Troys?"
I've a CORS Fore to test in the foreseeable future and will be hoping for a short learn curve but
With all I've read and observed, it might take a tad longer to master?

Hi Steve,
Yeah..."wrap-around" is a problem for metered machines. Not so much a problem for non-metered ones because they don't have displays that could potentially show "erroneous" information.
The Explorer XS was affected as was the Exp ll and the Exp SE. X-Terra's are also affected e.g the X-705 and to "get around it" ID 48 is 'blanked out

The 'fly in the ointment' has to be a LACK of numeric target ID's and just 4 Block Segments that signify the "class" of finds on the GF 60.
During some 'bench testing' the GF 60 on [ a range of common targets e.g. coins, tabs, rings, bulletts, shell cartridges etc it was perplexing to see or I should re-phrase that and say, "hear" some of [ the desira

Hi Tn,
I have a few theories about the target but you didn't answer my original Q. did you remove the washer and check it with your magnet AWAY from the bolt?
I've a feeling that the washer is a 'mix' of ferrous and washed with an exterior coating of copper for "protection" against the elements? But this just a theory?
Why not cut the bolt and remove the washer
