"I saw the battery 'mod' today and it looks like a good one.
But you'd really have to look hard...
You can "feel more" than can be seen...it's a really good feel to the New Sand Seal outer ring."

Hi SkiWhiz,
A Happy New Year to you!
Mid way thru 2015, I again took up my T2 (hadn't looked at it since ' 05)
I'm glad I did.
Yes. It's good in iron but a smaller coil would help things a lot.
The "issue" is the Bi-Axial coil's 'footprint'! It's too FORWARD....covers too much soil.
If it's standard coil was a round one it might b

Hi,
Happy New Year to all...
Does anyone know if and where a Goldscan 2 might be serviced / repaired.
A buddy has one and blew a 'capacitor' but has since replaced it and is working again.
But, as he's new to it, doesn't know if it's meant to have a Threshold or not?
I'm thinking it should as it features a - / + Threshold control.
Thanks in advance

"Over here this side of the pond (EU) "love tokens" are regular finds.
Usually bent and made from silver coins always worn almost to an illegible flat.
They're very interesting in their own right. A popular 'nursery rhyme' describes them.
"There was a crooked man by a crooked stile with a crooked sixpence etc!"

Yes, that new design has been advertised in the British magazines a few months now as "Coming Soon"
They're causing a bit of interest.
IMHO I'd say they'll certainly be Innovative!
I may luck out and get one to test???
Keep any info you get coming won't you now????

Thanks Keith.
I did notice that exact thing Monday last.
I'm getting the coil connector PLUG modified with some heat shrink rubber.
It's a weak plug and should really have been wrapped instead of bare metal.
Pimento, I'm familiar with ferries the control box.
I won't be doing that.
Good Hunting

Thanks for your informative comments Pimento.
I appreciate it.
Yeah...I hadn't used the T2 in several years so thought I'd ask a question or two on here.
Good or should I report "better news" past two days: I might have had a looser-than-I'd-like coil cable, as it enters the box.
The plastic & nylon screen protector I feel inhibited a

Hi all,
I'd be interested in hearing any tips you guys might have when detecting with your T2 "original"
Back in '07, I had used one extensively and found it quiet and mostly docile while remaining super sensitive!
Last few outings another one (acquired recently in Mint condition) has been 'sparky' to say the least while still remaining sensitive e.g. to small &

Yes
My advice is
Forget "Programs"
Just Detect
If you have to, use Quickmask and blacken all the screen with the exception of a 'postage stamp size ' that you keep "clear" top RHS

You'll have:
Extra weight
Less reliable discrimination
Reduced battery expectation
Instability (from ground noise and trash in close proximity I.e. In front and to the sides of the coil as it's swept along.

You must have had a "Spectra V3" at some stage?
I've got one again to give it another try and it has that orange color to the charging set up.

It's a dubious piece of various plastics that long-term I feel won't hold up.
No, you don't want this in your New X-Terra or whatever.
It pin points better than it detects.
Reason I got it was to Test it. That has been partially done.
The other reason is, there's this old wood beckoning to me since I was a kid as the back of
my Uncles house overlooked it across a small me

The 4800 is exactly the same as the 5000 minus 2 Search Modes
At introduction most went for the 5000 and the 4800 got left behind,
There were 2 other "lesser models" planned also but never saw the light of day.
Then, years later the SDC came along!
