Daniel,
I prototyped both. I was the only tester for the creation of the "Explorer"
It was brilliant.
A few years later I developed the "SE" but in the meantime changes were made to the FBS
coils and the SE never captured the true spirit of the original.
The coils were below par and despite improvements elsewhere it was good but not as good
as it should have been.

"Ouch!
That's gonna be one heavy beast!
And, not so good in heavy trash.
But, I do like the meter.
I've a few Genuine DTI meters for sale if you need one?"

When I heard they are re-releasing the T2, I called a guy who was selling one of the first
ones introduced some years ago and music to my ears, it was still available and I bought it
on the spot. Going to collect it today.
What I found when I used one back then was, it produced finds in places the X-Terra 705
and E Trac "missed and / or misinterpreted as junk", especially relating

Nice tale.
That "large 1940 cent" is a George VI English penny
They are our staple mainstay as they are literally "everywhere"
Whenever I'm testing anything "new" if they come up from previously detected sites then that
New machine is "deeper"
Regular finds at 6" - 14"
Yes... They make a BIG sound!!!

I've used both models in the past and they still would be regarded as excellent machines.
Don't know about those brass bolts?
My 1st move would be to whip those out and replace with plastic (if you can find some that fit)
I believe some years ago I found some substitute coil bolts at "Ace Hardware?"
Are they still around??? And....making it even more bizarre..... I think t

Yes I was in a Club
Helped form "The Pittsburgh Pastfinders" many years ago with a friend called Larry Bollinger.
That's my only club connection.
But I've been to several 'Club meets' in the UK and other countries doing PR events when I was with Minelab.

Keith,
Despite a lot of elders there no one's 'asleep at the wheel' around Florida's beaches!
I'll be surprised if you find anything "historic" at all!
I lived on the Gulf Coast right on the beach for 6 years. There's loads of competition to contend with.
But, do enjoy yourself! I'd love a trip back soon?
Treat yourself to a few great dinners...I

Yeah I'd go with that
"Racer" was definitely a step in the right direction but yet didn't attain Ultimate Machine status
It is a great offering from two companies that are growing exponentially and each iteration seems full of a word that has been lacking in recent years
INNOVATION
1. A vibrating hand grip
2. Flashlight in the control box
But yet, poor ergonomics

I tried a concentric on a Sov Elite and liked it a lot despite it not being a sophisticated coil...
A first attempt from Excellerator but it did find [ low conductors ] that we favour in Europe
Am not sure if Minelab ever dabbled with Explorer concentrics?
I tested a lot of 'experimental' coils for the Explorer / E Trac but these had more & fewer windings
and were epoxy & no

They're not really [ extra weight ]
They're essential really.
Funny thing but my small Racer coil cover is cracked on the edge but still hangs on tightly!!
Was swingin' my Go Find 60 yesterday on some very loose shingle underneath some overhanging cliffs (real small about 10ft high)
and banged the coil off a rock and the sound was just awful... Like really cheap plastic abou

Yeah, upgrading Explorer headphones is [ a must do ]
Try a set of [ noise cancel ] phones w/Explorer and you won't believe it!!
Some years back I plugged every set available at the Dealer into an Explorer and
"Killer B's" we're best.
Things have moved on and there are some great options available now.
So it will pay to check out some New Technology headphones.

Am currently testing the newer UK "Laser Trident ll" and liking it.
Better than the 'older' "Vaquero" especially in the Ferrous ID area.
Only fly in ointment was 2 requests from "the guys at Tesoro" asking:
"Can you tell me why this new coil is better?"
( I would like to reference it in my test report. )
The first reply advised they

I tried Beach on one of my badly mineralised sites.
While it worked, I couldn't see benefit to it.
Signals weren't improved and iron rejection was bad.
Remember, Beach Mode defaults to 40 so has to be manually reduced.
On an X-Terra 705 it's Beach Mode can operate inland and as an 'added benefit' and an unplanned
one at that it does a terrific job of rejecting iron

The finds are exactly those the machine was designed
to find those that have a greater make up concentrate
of Ferrous and those elusive Low Conductive targets Especially those of a "difficult" eddy current
generator i.e. Such as those .22 cartridge cases.
I remember finding more spent ammunition with the F19
than I had testing other machines.
On the same topic: this year beach

Last summer on a similar old farmstead my F19 results were remarkably similar.
The discovery of a few deep iron buckles to 10" depth and other nations non ferrous "dross" the
CTX didn't 'see' was a disappointment and with it's 6" coil.
This summer I went over the same area with a the Teknetics Digitek and, it found items missed
by the F19
But, they ar

Keith,
I've penned tests on both the F19 last year and the Racer in the August copy of the UK
Searcher magazine.
There's a lot between them yet they "appear" to be the same.
The F19 is way more refined. Racer is rough and "racaous".
Yet they can unmask extremely well in amongst trash.
Racer has 'the edge' due to it's standard coil being of

Kenny,
Good video quality, even after all that 'compression'.
Well done on the tow behind sluice...I've always thought about making another one.
Yeah....I too am looking at replacing 2 digital DV camcorders with a new one?
Choice is limited enough as I really prefer a bulkier cam over the small GP style cam.
Factor in cams now have 4K HD etc and file sizes and compression

My "Detecnix" still going strong as loaned to a friend.
Used my "NoktaPointer" all thru the spring and still
going strong.
In fact, today I had to de-sensitise it quite a few times as it's such a powerful device!

Took off mine today...a nice grey colored epoxy...
No dirt in the 'OOR' coil but noted the coil cover had fractured an inch on its edge?
Loads sand grit in the larger one... Gone now courtesy of Mr Dyson

I'm hoping they accept our Invitation to our next years party and they present us with
