I was of the impression it is not a PI, but some form of a all metal vlf/hybrid that handles bad dirt better than a Pi.
On Steve's forum, there is a 7 minute video that gives a little insight.

CZ5 is a great canadian clad detector. The sweet spot is pull tab range, thats were all the loonies and toonies and quarters fall. which is a mid tone. Ring pulls are usually just that. a jumpy foil tone that jumps to pull tabs is an always dig.High tone are pennies. Zinc pennies are either us penny or a canadian dime. If you get an overload lift the coil 5 inches, if it reads pull tab will be lo

That's a good find Keith. Can't beat the price.
something that I checked in headphones was the frequency range. I bought a pair koss Pro 4AA. The range is from 10 - 25000khz. My hearing is not great, and I thought they might help a little.
do you pay any attention to frequency, or just ohms?

One thing I forgot to mention was, try to do test out doors or in area with little electrical interference. Use a clad dime, and your minimum air test for a good cz should be 10".
If you get into the 11 to 11.5 or higher your getting into the hot range.
cheers

Grd balance 10, disc 0, sen 4.5-5, volume 10, enhanced mod.
I know you know this but don't use a metal tape measure butted up against the coil. I saw this in a you tube video, and thought, that could qualify as iron masking.
Nice of you to help out your friend.
Have great day!!!

It does not make sense that you would get a sound as soon as you started turning the gb button in the pinpoint method. It should balance out very close to the bobbing method. Are you pushing the pp button and then lowering the coil, or lowering the coil to the ground and then pushing the pp? Should be push pp then lower coil.

If your going to get a cz20/21, look around for a good used cz20. The 20 is the old fisher and the 21 is the new fisher so the same depth issues exist that hey have with the cz3d.
Hip mount your control box on your left hip if you are right handed and then you can use you left hand for the pin point button. It also allows you to put your headphone cable behind you back out of the way.
That work

If they have a pulse delay of 8 micro seconds and iron reject or tone beak on iron they have my attention. Hope it's not just another reworked detector that's water proof with a flashy look to it.

Just a note about boost mode.
In the specs the relic in boost draws 72MA, the Gold and Smart draw 52MA.
So for raw depth Would that mean that the relic should be the deepest?
Battery life in boost, if you ran it that way all the time would be about 8hrs.
Thanks

Detect the pile. If they don't reuse the dirt they may haul it some where. Find out were.
To bad you didn't get a chance to hunt after they stripped a foot off. Tom always says we would be shocked at what was out of detectable range.
At least you got a few good days hunting!
Cheers

I believe the excuse was patent infringement, but don't quote me on that Steve.
It's been very hush hush for the last couple of months. Do you have any news Steve?

There is a new PI hopefully coming to market in 2013{read advance in technology}.
One of the big manufacturers has spent a lot of time and money on lawyers trying to block it.

Hi Tom
Nice to see you back, and I really appreciate your input. I agree with you that the Deus or GMP would be the better choice.
Were you away doing testing on the new FT unit?
Have a great day.

Just received an email from Accurate Locators with a price on the rg1000 v2. 850.00 use, + 65.00 shipping via UPS. I know I can do better on the shipping, so should be able to get it for 875.00.
They did nor mention Pro Pack, and I'm not sure what that includes.

I got a reply back from Accurate locators in Oregon today. They wanted more shipping info, which I sent them so may have a price on the 1000 by tomorrow.
I'll keep you posted.

I also emailed accurate locators on Friday last. No response.
Responding to email I do not believe has anything to do with their web page.
Hopefully a reliable distributor will pick up the line.
Cheers
