Place CZ-3D in "Enhanced" mode and:
* Approx. 25% - 40% of new nickels should read 'round-tab' (with mid-tone).
* $5.00 Gold Half-Eagle should read high-tone (Zinc Penny ID).
* U.S. Shield nickel should read high-tone (Nickel ID).
* Zinc pennies should read high tone (High-Coin ID).

You point the Vibraprobe up to turn it on, it will vibrate one short pulse to let you know that it is on. After one minute of not detecting metal it will turn it self off. It will give a a long vibration to let you know that it is about to turn off. The closer you are to metal, the faster it will vibrate. There are no buttons at all.

Several years ago I sealed a couple of coils and covers with Liquid Electrical tape, and it sealed great. I never have submerged the coil, but it keeps the dirt out, and with it being black it blends in like it wasn't even there.

Thanks for the input Dan. I'm leaning on keeping it anyways. Because I already know that I have a working unit. I don't want to take any chances, but I'm still considering it.

I have a chance to trade my Tejon for an X5, I have never used one, but I have read fairly positive things and about the X5. Has anybody used one? What are your opinions? Will I be trading up, down, or about equal?
Thanks,
Scott

Tom, I've actually heard that it was a 1280X that were in the headphones. There are several arguments on messsge boards, some say it is a 1280X and some say that it is Gary Storm's own design.

Pips,
Shovels like that can be found at Walmart and at Lowe's. I have seen them for around $10.00
As for the headphones I use a pair of Killer B's that I am happy with.

Hi Ray,
I don't mean to answer for Tom, but I once asked this exact question.
Quote from Tom: I have found the CZ 10.5" coil to give nearly identical performance to 12.5" Sunray coil .... in depth capabilities & soil volume coverage. Does not matter which CZ platform.

I believe that what the manual means is. If with those settings, iron, with a VDI more than 12, say 13,14,or 15. Will not display a ID number, even though the ID is above 12. So if your disc is set to 12, numbers 13,14,15 will not be displayed either if the target is iron, but you will get an audio response. I do not own a F75,this is what I am getting from reading the posts.

Hi Tom,
Have you ever used the Sunray FZ-12 coil for the CZ-3D? Can more depth really be expected from the 3D with this 12.5" coil over the Fisher 10.5" coil?
Thanks, Scott

Hi Tom,
I feel better now. I was worried that I might miss nickels if they ID'ed as pull tab with a mid tone, like this one did in and air test. Knowing that buried nickels will ID as a nickel correctly with a high tone takes a load off of my mind. Thanks for your help. I will call and get the 6th edition today.

I just bought a CZ-3D and I was doing an air test on a 1919 Buffalo nickel. In the salt mode it gave a high tone and in Enhanced mode it gave a mid tone. I thought that it should give a high tone on a Buffalo nickel in Enhanced mode. It was a nickel that I got from a club hunt. I don't think it was ever buried. Is that why it is giving a mid tone in Enhanced mode, because it was not buried.

I really enjoy your DVD. It helped me to decide to buy a CZ-3D. I have wanted a CZ-3D since I met you at the FMDAC hunt in Shreveport, LA in Sept. 2004.
Do you plan on making a new DVD anytime soon? I remember reading somewhere (Can't remember where) that you had alot of information that you wanted to put into your current DVD, but you were not able to get in all in the current one. Do you
