My cz3d ground ballanced correctly, hits a measured 10" deep quarter repeatedly with a high tone. When I drop the GB two numbers, I get low tones on the quarter. The falsing is minimized, but that's not a good trade off.
I recall therover saying the 3d sometimes will give a low tone on deep silver.
That tells me that the 3d has to be ground ballanced spot on and checked periodic

Good point go-rebels. I didn't get one with the cz but did with the 75. Wouldn't surprise me that he just wanted to make a sale. I don't go for the BSing though.

I was told by a MD dealer that if you don't use the coil cover, the Mfg will not honor the warrantee. Not exactly sure that's true. Anyone know for sure?

Having a wife that cheers you on and builds you up is a huge boost along with your burning passion.
Remembering when I went into business 19 years ago was a very tough decission. I had two young kids and a mortgage and a job. My wife said " you can do it hon, I know you, give it a go", " we'll be fine".
I'm still in business and my kids are grown. I then, did

If you can, get the full serial number, then call Fisher and they will look it up and tell you if they will still honor it. I have done this recently on a 3d. They looked it up in the computer and said the lifetime warrantee was good.

I was telling my friend about the results and he said, get the ML SE (his machine that I borrowed) and see if it hits the 10" deep quarter. So as I was on the phone with him I got out the SE, noise cancel, manual sens all the way up, deep on, all white screen except a couple ferrous blacked out. Swung it over the 10" deep quarter and nothing... I didn't expect that. Passed it over

After work and when the sun dropped behind the trees, I figured I'd work on the test garden. It was a 100 degree day and the black flies were a nuisance so I only filled the 10" deep hole with a clad quater and the 9" deep hole with a clad dime, that's as far as I got. The rest of the holes are dug but not backfilled. The backfill in the two holes, sanitized.
Before backfil

Lawrenzo, I think a little birdie whispered something in your ear about the next Fisher machine......... something intriguing, maybe in 6 months?

I see what you're saying, now it makes sense. According to the graphs the Explorer is more precise. Less overlapping of coordinates and a better use of the ferrous values. Thanks for the graphs Shambler. I'm looking at the SE in a different light and will dust it off and give another go. One question; which machine is deeper the Exp. SE or the E?

Synthnut, I recall years ago a store called "Play it Again". The guy sold used sporting goods and musical equipment. Your post reminds me of that place.
Oh yea, golf, hope you have patience. Good game and you probably can afford it.

From what I conclude with my limited time with both, the E-trac IS an improved version of the Explorer. Maybe a bit better than a re-packaged one.
What's wrong with taking a fine machine and making it easier to understand? Could it be that it took alot of time to understand the "s" curve and you finally understand it, then they come out with a BETTER easier version of an FBS det

With the short amount of time I was fortunate to use the E-trac (over 40 hrs, and I also read Andy's book) I would only use the factory coins program when I got lazy. Mostly I used an all white screen with a couple ferrous lines blacked out and manual sens with difficult on or high trash, can't remember the terminolgy on the E.
The E-trac was easy to learn, not really any head scratch

The E is a fine machine. My buddy has one and I've used it many times. He also has an SE, I've also used it many times. I have an f-75 and a cz3d and am very happy with them. As far as one being better, I don't know, I find old coins with all of them.
I'm not a soil expert but it seems here in PA it's mostly moderate.

The card holders only get face value for the coins deposited. They cost more to buy than the face value of the coin.....my first thoughts, anyway

Talk about thinking outside of the box. I have to hand it to the sidewalk guy. Word's out now,,,, N.Y. will have the cleanest sidewalks in the country and lawsuits out the wazoo from people falling over gem seachers.

Dan, I'm in the same state your in, Pa....southeastern near Doylestown. I'd say the soil around here is kind of mid to low mineralization. It's a short jaunt to Jersey beaches.

I'll be testing the sens vs. depth. It dosen't sit right with me that past 5 won't yield more depth. I proved it by burying the dime in the field at 8" and it barely sounded on it, then raising it to 6 hit it no problem. I'm a little confused about the 4.5 setting Dan-Pa. What happens to the cz above 5? The receive coil becomes more sensitive, have something to do with t

Tom, I did lower the gb from 5.5 down to 3.5 - 4, learned that from you. Eighty percent of the falses turned to low iron tones. I ordered the 10.5 inch coil. I'm getting a little attached to that cz. Thanks.

Hi Guys, and Gals (if there are any),
I picked up a cz-3d, (1021 S.# w/ 8" coil), a couple weeks ago that I've been eyeing up for a few years now, it has never been sold at the dealers.
First time out I hit a 1724 Britania but only @ 2" deep. Nice, but no test. From reading, they say you can't go past 4.5 sens and be stable. I don't like being limited on the sens setti

Beyond crazy. We fought Muslims after Thomas Jefferson became President. Before that we paid them millions of dollars not to pirate our ships and enslave Americans. Jefferson put a end to that at Tripoli by sending Marines on our best war ships to the Barbary Coast.
Muslims have not changed their way of thinking about non-Muslims? Not on your life and neither has Barack Hussein Obama. How the !
