I've been wanting to build a new test garden for the longest time in my backyard and especially after reading Brads latest thread, I feel its about time. I'm planning on building a complex garden in my low min clean soil with many different scenarios and have some good ideas in mind. The garden I presently have is very basic, a few coins buried a various levels, however with no ferrous

Good post.
I've been considering alot of these points you've addressed, especially the test garden. I've been wanting to build a really complex type of garden in my yard and want to get various opinions as to what different scenario's to make. I'll just start a new thread.
Thanks Brad.

I am mostly concerned with how the 2 machines will compare in trashy areas and their ability to unmask targets, and work around iron. 6" still isnt bad depth if you are working in bad soil, do you have a 5" coils to use on both machines?
Thanks

Steve the problems were very bizarre to say the least and lest not to leave myself open to uneeded criticism as to "did you do this or try that". Everything was tried over a period of 7months and can be validated by my fellow hunters on this forum. I would rather not rehash issue. I would like to say that I have great respect for this forum and the members on it . However in complex ele

Good post.
Its not often you get a real fair and honest opinion from someone who has used both machines and does like the new machine but still prefers his old one. I'm figuring you have a ton of hours on that 75 and that's obviously why you are so successful with it.
If it wasn't for the problems I had with my 75LTD I would have kept it. It was the fastest machine I ever had a

Sonny not sure if your old Etrac was a Irish made one however are you concerned with the Malaysia Etrac if you are buying a new one? I've got a new one coming soon and have given it some thought. I started a thread on FindMall asking those who have bought the Malaysia Etracs and most claimed they had no problems. My SE Pro is from Ireland and 1yrs old and never had a problem, however my Exca

Interesting point regarding the targets like rings being passed over because of set angles. I would like some Etrac owners to weigh in regarding this topic. The Etrac is able to be programed to accept targets on all angles.
Thanks

Both of my CZ's do excellent with the 5" coil especially in trashy areas. My 3D will get a dime easily at 8" and the 70Pro at least that, of course the 3D is a extra deep machine and air tests a dime at 12", Tom calibrated it. I have low min. soil here in SE Mi. That 5" coil will surprise you!

TerraD., I think we've misunderstood Tom, I think he is talking about selling new machines that he has checked out, calibrated and approved.
Sounds like a good idea...

Yes I have the 10x12 and it is a really good coil even in trash however I have had most success w the 5" SunRay coil in heavy trash and iron. I'm easily getting pennies down to 8" with it (SEpro). The separation is amazing.
I cannot wait for spring and the ground to thaw.

I have a feeling they are offering the coils at such a good price because they are trying to get a buzz goin over here since they don't have distributors established yet. I can't really see how their coils could be any better than my SunRay or Accelerator ones though.

We were talking about this topic late last fall. jbow and I both contacted them, the price basically for a small 4x7 coil was only $150. shipped, not a bad price, if it works. I had some trouble comunicating with the guy, everything seemed okay. I was gonna buy one for my Explorer but just decided against it because I have enough coils for it as it is that are killing the siver anyway. And as I r

Just try to find any coin silver or "scrap ninety" as they call it in any coin store, they're almost always sold out. You have a better chance goin out diggin for it. Even the small US gold coins are hard to find. My huntin partner told me today if you go on Craigs List dealers are buyin up anything silver like crazy.
I certainly do believe silver is undervalued, and I believe it

In case you have not noticed silver has finally topped $30. And gold is working its way back up. Who knows what it will be tomorrow as erratic as the market is?
