All of the above taken into account with a few changes,
Push button on demand x ray for shape ID or seeing through trash.
GPS coil head tracking for working a area thoroughly, with plot to find holes you missed in your sweep pattern as well as where you took X rays.
All in A pulse machine with adjustable timing and perfect disc and still capable of full depth .

If you could go a little more on the money I would throw one of the New gold bugs into the mix. Maybe a used one as they are starting to show on some of the forums. One other thought is if your hatch back has a spare tire well inside under the carpet use it for the detector and leave the tire in sight. Who wants to steal a tire. On second thought you never know.

Hard to tell from the video but it also looks like he is sweeping on the lower side of the coil versus the middle area. I have allot of emi issues here and some times I get more depth at lower sens levels using the threshold as a guide. Lowering my gain to where threshold just smooths out. One park I hunt is a nightmare to hunt but its the best one due to age the county fairs and large # of event

I agree with Caretaker on the fact that once you dig something out of the norm you always dig it. I used to ignore zinc pennies as much as possible until one day I decided to dig one and it was a 17.9 gram 10 k religious medallion reading exactly what a zinc does now I dig them all.

Hey Keith,
Couldn't hurt to try and see what happens. Doing some prospecting of the area would be a good start. Is there any bedrock exposed? Check the cracks if so, and the head and tail of the bedrock looking for places that might trap gold. try to envision the creek at flood stages (as this is what moves gold) and guestimate where the low pressure areas would be. these areas are the most

GODIGIT 1 For President!!!!!!!! LOL
As your next president I will enact the Fair Finds Legislation where you will be given credit for your historical finds which will be sold to a museum and you get the money.

We need legislation similar to England where the item is valued, sold to a museum and the finder is paid for it. In this manner more national treasures would be fairly obtained and put on display for the public to enjoy.
Just my two cents!!!

Thanks again for the input and test recommendations, It seems to work perfect but I was not able to ground balance well as his property had allot of iron in the ground. But the air tests were great. With all the extras I think I got a awesome deal. I did not have any white gold to test with but it picked up both the nuggets I took very well. One I have not weighed but its probably about a 10th of

Thanks guys for your responses.
Tom,
If I make the drive to go check out the SD ( 2 hourseach way ) I will test it with a 1.2 gram nugget I keep for just this kind of thing. I was just hoping to get some info before taking the drive. I know you have used the sd 2200 and stated it was one of the most powerful machines you have used. I also read that with the mods you can do to the 2000 it will

I was wondering if anyone here was familiar with both the old Minelab Sd 2000 and the Infinium? I have been wanting a pulse prospecting machine and the 4500 and 5000s are out of reach for me right now and my sand shark doesn't cut it.
I have the opportunity to buy both used at this time. The Infinium in the $800 range and the Sd in the $600 range and it comes with allot of extras including

Ok here we go! I did not think the wrench would be that difficult to disc but due to size I had to run max disc. How the TR's work on large iron is a mystery to me. I guess this thread has gotten a little off topic, sorry Tom. I would love to buy the CZ if I could right now. After watching your video I would like to give one a try. Works starting to pick up so maybe soon.
So here it is Open

I don't know about the wrench as I have not tried it but I can exactly duplicate this test with my Gold bug version 2 software. In my previous tests I used multiple nails so I think the wrench might be possible. I will try the wrench and see and will post a vid of my results for you guys as I have another one to do today of a 8" nickel at 50% power I will do this as well. Later tonight

Hey Lowboy hate to be the bearer of bad news but after looking at the video again that dolphin ring says 18kGERSC Its Gold electroplated. RSC as far as I can find only makes designer rings. Like you said though it really doesn't matter as the finding of any ring is fun for me and that one with the horse shoe sure makes up for it. The other half of the fun for me is researching the finds and

Way to go Lowboy great hunts! The dolphin ring is RS Covenent ring I just got one a week ago at a school as well. Of course it was a different style. You can go to their web site and might be able to see that style still for sale. I found mine there. half the fun is researching the finds.

Ive heard minelabs only receive in 3 frequencies as well but was not sure I started a post here called ML Fbs Machines question. I posted a link there that is from the minelab site stating they receive in low med and high frequencies ranges. But they do not say weather its just or three groups. Its a very interesting question and if this is the case I am swayed to the V3I as I can control the ma

I use a vibra probe and it drives my gold bug crazy so I have become accustomed to setting my unit where the coil is to the side and behind me. It stays quieter that way and I save time by not having to put my head phones on and off. Pro pointer is next on the wish list. The vibra probe is good in the rain and mud but I watch my friends with the Pro and their recovery time is better.

What a day, Glad you guys got out for some fun. I have not hunted many old houses except ours and the nails here are so thick you cant get a good target more than a inch deep in spots. I have pulled some nice stuff though and bigger things like horse shoes and a ax head.

Nice posts Terra and Grant,
You guys hit it on the head, the feds have no reason to prosecute this guy except for their private interests. I love my country but am embarrassed by the tactics used by them and their organizations such as the forest service and fish and game. When did we start letting people we did not vote for start regulating us. Sad to say it but it is no longer the land of the

The G2 and Gbs are great for that tiny stuff ! By the looks of your finds and the lack of clad you were in a area that has been cherry picked. But the cherry pickers don't get the small stuff like this and or the gold.
Way to work it.

I spent Hours on hours researching treasure stories. One particular takes place in Carson city and has been well documented. However after pouring through 15 years of news papers from the time period court records and Wells Fargo records I was at a decision point that the story though being in many books and in local history was bogus. Shortly after coming to this conclusion I found a book where
