These are my thoughts as well. There is no perfect beach machine. To make the equinox perfect, I would of loved to see all metal beach mode, accurate VDI, time on the display (yes minor but I like it on the c

I've compared it with my CZ, Excal, and CTX and it was similar depth wise in air tests (maybe a tad deeper) though the 17'' coil on the CTX was obviously deeper. Its lighter, cheaper, and just as deep. It can possibly find smaller gold but I have yet to find anything my other machines wouldn't of. Its a nice find, that's for sure! I've got 2 gold rings and a bunch of silver and clad...doubt I've paid for mine yet though. I mean I've only had it since april. Should have it paid for in finds soon enough though if these storms ever stop.

Didn't they tell us months ago they would be releasing a video showing us how to remove the battery without breaking warranty? Still waiting for that one...

My guess is that its going to stay that same price and be discontinued in the next year or two with an upgraded Equinox that they will say is Multifrequency 2. It won't cost $2500 either. It will be more like $1200 with maybe a $1500 big brother. It will be nearly the same as the current nox with just more features like gps, removeable battery, etc.
The only advantage that the CTX has rig

Iron bias won't really affect depth, rather your ability to detect an object. But recovery speed will affect it. Higher recovery speed = less depth. In my tests I couldn't find a situation where highe

I would like to build one. My issue is that I hunt at the beach and my yard is a mixture of soil, sand, and clay about 1.5 miles inland...so its too different and I am not sure its going to provide me with great info...maybe I just need to take some sand from the beach; I probably have enough in my car each time I take the kids to the beach

Cant really use a PI around me unless you want to dig tiny pieces of fish hook all day. Now if fishers new PI discs iron it will be a game changer. CZ21 is an awesome machine but the w

tons of threads speaking to it but...
Its as deep as the most expensive machines, its much much lighter (for us beach hunters), and its much cheaper (for us beach hunters). In the right conditions it may also be able to find smaller gold, like chains. So the hype is justified if you are a beach hunter. Is it the end all be all? Nope. But its a great option right now.

I found my second gold ring today with the nox. 18-21VDI, similar to my other. It was 10K .2 ounces womens wedding band. I've found zinc pennies with VDIs ranging from 14-26. I am not relying on the VDI#s whatsoev

Quote Or is the wet salt beach modes "dumbed down" (for sake of stability) such that you are no longer getting micro-jewelry, in the first place ?
Quote So id say yes you are correct about the machines ability to find small gold in the water..... aint happening. However...... you can tell significant difference in its ability to identify targets much deeper in the wet sand in the gol

QuoteAnd then the ones that have moved beyond the "yes it is a keeper for me" stage and are trying to figure out what makes it do what it does and how to get the most out of it. That's where I find myself.
I am here. I am not convinced I am finding anything my other machines wouldn't find. I am convinced that this machine is just as good, much lighter, and much cheaper, whi

I would agree. Great machine - light, inexpensive, and waterproof but no better than the excal, ctx, cz21...except being so much cheaper and lighter makes it a no brainer on the beach.

What we are asking for is the version they are working on now to replace the etrac/ctx
What would i like to see on the current one?

Video showing us how to replace the battery that doesn't break warranty
Thats it. The machine is fine otherwise. Ive got the 600 and dont need other settings for the beach. I would love an all metal beach mode but know that isnt coming. I

I think a lot of us are beach hunters only - me being one of them. The nox is doing just as well as any of my other machines. In the last 2 months I have found 1 gold ring and about 15 silver pieces of jewelry, which is pretty average for me. So it seems great! Its lighter than my other machines and cost so much less. I will say out of all of the machines I have had I preferred the Excal the most

Yep it really stinks. I mowed my lawn at 7am today and still was soaking wet after 10 mins. I either hunt early morns or water hunt. Only low tide hunting until the temp changes for me. The cool thing about water hunting though is that I can go anytime, like even 1pm, during the week as the water/beach isn't over crowded then, and I avoid the heat by being in the ocean...now if I could only

I have done interviews for detector shows over the past few years. All were interested. I did multiple interviews and then the shows all never panned out. I wonder if this one really will?
