Jeff,
Sounds good, kinda keeps the passion buring looking for the next big hit. I rummaged around in the finds and came up with around 3700 dollars worth of gold, most of which was old broken finds. The price of gold got up too high to walk away. Now I got to start over!
Most of that was found with CZ's, gotta love em!
Good hunting

Jeff and Jeb,
Just to keep you current with conditions in Florida, 2 of my palms are show ing signs of coming back and the bananas are thriving with a large clump of new bananas starting to grow now. I'll have a home made banana split in your honor in a couple of weeks. Good hunting guys and if you're planning on coming down wait a few months to really enjoy th benefits we have to s

Joe,
You have definately come to the right forum for very thorough and unbiased information. There is a plethora of info spread over the last 6 or 8 pages on the LTD in itself, and as compared to other units. NASA Tom is the ultimate source of info and has devoted countless Thousands of hours of time doing research and field testing of not only F 75's but nearly every make of detector in us

One of the guys that went on the PD with back in '61 recently died and his widow just contacted me to find a tennis bracelet she lost in the yard, advising it was the last thing her husband bought for her.
I have tried without success and the search area is not all big. She lost the bracelet once before and they took it to the jewelers and had all the links soldered together with go

Forget the nickels I think I just found info on a coin that you should be able to detect, even with a broken detector! Story in current W&E Treasure magazine about a Canadian Maple Leaf gold coin minted in 2007 but recently sold. The coin is 21 inches in diameter and weighs 220 pounds and is called a million dollar coin but sold for 4 million dollars.
I also have a 3D and like a

Jeff and Rover,
What's snow?. Haven't seen any for about 50 years now! I was born in Chicago so I do remember. We did have a terrible winter this past year and I lost 7 palm trees and a bunch of other plants! The banana trees suffered a bit also. The weather is a relative thing, what you would consider warm in the winter I would be freezing! Oh well, I can tell I'm not getting an

Jeb,
I don't have an F75 but have owned the entire CZ line from CZ6 in 1991 up though CZ3D. From reading all the posts they are similar in depth but F75 has a much faster processor that works trashy areas best of all but doesn't like salt beaches. 3D is a lot more stable and does work well on the salt beaches. I live in Florida in Tampa Bay area and spend at least 75% of detecting time

Jeff,
You won't be able to hunt much in enhanced mode in the salt. Perhaps you would get different results up where you're at as to our Florida beaches but you should have to switch over to Salt Mode. But then you can try
but my experience down here is a lot of chatter some of which sounds very much like a target but isn't.

Jeff,
Check with Fisher. I purchased a chest mount harness about 4 months ago but they had run out of the CZ bags to hang on the harness. I have a commercial seamstress a block from my house and I took the housing over and she made a bag that was similar to one pictured here on the forum in another thread. I like to chest mount also and the velcro fastened bag keeps the sand out and would prov

I have undertaken a major task, in that it was time, to clean out the computer room. Even though this was a monumental undertaking I dove in fearlessly and amazing things began to happen the best of which, is several baggies of found articles from years ago including a good handful of scrap gold. It will make it's sacrificial journey to the melting pot at $1200/ounce. But the point of the po

Since it was a park I wonder if resodding could have been a factor in increasing depth of target. Around my area we have had some good areas covered by new sod which adds another 3 to 4 inches in depth and eliminates some of the targets!

I served in the Marine Corps back in the 50's and I truly would love to see him try to make it through boot camp. It required a large dose of Honor, Glory and Love of God & Country, not to mention balls. None of which he possesses.

I have met and known several deaf detectorists, most of them very successful. One that lives in the southeast Florida area has made spectacular finds from the 1715 treasure fleet. One I knew was the keynote speaked at one of the FMDAC conventions. It's always humbling when someone with these disabilities "kicks your butt" while detecting. The very fact that they get o

Or you could move to Florida, we don't allow bugs of any kind down here..........Yeah right! Just don't venture into any of the swamp areas without
your local blood bank van parked nearby. Based on the principle of gas pumps they have blood pumps. After ten minutes in the swamp swing by
the local blood van with credit card in hand get filled up. Our mosquitoes have 4 foot wing spans

Turtleman,
By your description those beaches are definately different than FL beaches! Make sure your going to a high useage beach and low tide is best. Look for a cut in the sand, where the weather or tide movement has sliced a trench in the beach. Checking in the bottom of the cuts will offset the sink rate and bring your coil back within range of some targets.
In FL we can use the bigge

Hey all,
The ring is from the Naval Academy and was quite large. One of the guys involved in the recovery is a jeweler and was going to clean it but the widow wanted us to send it back as we found it. I found out today the ring was 14K and not 18K. Perhaps that allowed the barnacles to grab on??? It's the first gold that I have heard of that had barnacles on it. The vast majority of our hun

Tom,
We all know that gold doesn't tarnish but........ Remember Mike Brown, the tall skinny guy that won the big prize at the beach shootout, well he just made a ring find that we were able to locate the owner and return. The ring is 18K with value around $700 and is heavily encrusted with barnacles. It was lost about 40 years ago out in the beach waters near Clearwater. Story and photo w

Aaron, I have a CZ20, which I've had for 15 yrs. that has never seen fresh water! Hunting in salt water or on shore sensitivity around 5 seems to be best. Maybe fresh water might make a difference.
