Rest in peace Dan. When I bought my CZ back in 2007 I used to ask him questions about it and he was always willing to help out. He will be missed.

I have been getting American Digger Mag. for 6 yrs. It is a good read. Just renewed my subscription. I had been getting Western and Eastern Treasure for the last 12yrs. and did not renew it this year, which turned out good for me because I like to have a magazine in my hand to read.

I like it simple. That's why I like my cz-3d, easy set -up and has found me lots of 1800's coins. I see folks on the forums with detectors you have to program asking for the best settings and 20 people will give 20 different answers. In the back of my mind I would always be wondering which one is the best.

45yrs. detecting and I have never sold any of my old coins. Finding coins over 100yrs. old and knowing I am the first person to touch them since they were lost gives me a connection to those who lost them.

American Digger. You get it every other month, but there are some good articles in it. If you google it you can look at some primer issues on line to get an ideal of what it's like.

Have had a cz-3d since 2007 and have always ground balanced using the bobbing method in enhanced mode. You guys have me curious wondering if ground balancing and using the bobbing method in salt mode would work any different. In other words what method would be better if any ? Read the manual and didn't see where it say's either one. Also read where using the bobbing method you shoul

Started detecting in 1972 and just bought my first pinpointer this spring. Like you I just grabbed a hand full of dirt and waved it over the coil. Seeing how i just hunt fields in the spring and fall I just can't seem to get used to using it. I still like to wave the dirt over the coil. After 45yrs. I guess it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

Congrats on the seated half-dime. I think any seated coin from the 1860's is hard to find. I have seated coins from the 1830's, 40's, 50's, 70's, 80's. and 91 but nothing from the 60's, at least not where I am at. Don't know if it had any thing to do with the civil war or not.

I watch it also and like it. If the truth be told i am sure there are more people on here that watch it and enjoy it, but won't admit it.

Finding something that has been in the ground for 100-150yrs. and knowing i am the first person to touch it since it was lost. I sort of fill a connection to the person who lost it and try to put myself in that time period.
