George, I noticed your salinity is wide open. Take advantage of the salinity by tailoring it to your ground. Before ground balancing, set the sensitivity, and don’t underestimate the Tarsaccis power! In your hot ground starting at 6 may be a good idea till you get used to it. Then set your salinity. Start by setting your salinity at 35, now sweep the coil over the noisy ground and slowly raise th

I’d say that 9.5grms of yellow metal was very productive 4hrs!
I was wondering about the faded face plate, however considering the hundreds of hours of intense sunlight and salt you’ve put on the Tarsacci, I’m sure most other machines would fair about the same. From 30+ years of water hunting, Ive found it to put the most wear on a machine.

Yes, 18khz is what I’ve been running in iron as well. I’m finding really tiny non-fe stuff amidst the iron. And honestly, that’s the frequency I’ve been using. Keith however claims the 6.4 is getting him even better depth.....

Andrew, yes agreed regarding setting up according to you own ground. The numbers that Keith has suggested can very in my ground around 4 points.
You said: “ Now in the really thick iron I found that running my salt balance up to 50 which is max (I could probably use a higher range) and my ground balance up about 150 points higher than the actual GB number really starts to do some serious unmas

Yes Keith that’s correct, Salinity is not needed under 600 Ground. However, Dimatar also said that it doesn’t hurt to leave it on. Hence, I always leave my on as my ground varies from high 500’s to high 700’s.
FYI....Dimatar also said that you should try experimenting w the Black sand on & off in various situations as it may help.
Finally got out in the water today for the first time

Hi, welcome to Toms forum!
For those that are new to the Tarsacci, it’s highly recommended that you first the learn “language” of the detector w the stock coil. And keep in mind that the Tarsaccis’s stock coil will still out perform the Equinox’s 15x12 coil in salt, black sand, mineralized environments. As far as the larger coil there still isn’t a release date yet from Dimatar.

Thanks for detailed report Teresa!
I never use the tracking however I can see how that can help an extreme environment like that.
I’ll be hunting in a nail infested site tomorrow, this information will come in handy!
Thanks!

The Vista X is VERY powerful unit, especially on small mid tones. I found many beaver tails at 7” that literally sounded like surface targets. Hairsplitting duel discrimination too that can tilt the odds in your favor for small gold as well which hasn’t been discussed here.

Hmmmm....MineLab’s been doing that for YEARS w the EXPLORER, ETRAC, CTX and it’s ALOT better design as the washers lock into place into the yoke and cannot fallout while inserting the coil. Nothing new there...
That thick threaded coil spindle on the Vista X is no joy trying to insert through the coil ears, very tight tolerance.

Been there done that. Great machine, go’s real DEEP but when it comes to unmasking in iron compared to the Tarsacci....FAH GET A BOUT IT!
In fact...... I’ve got no use for or any other VLF!
Anyone interested in a Deeptech Vista X in EXCELLENT condition w a 6” coil lemme know!

Agreed Tom.
One tip I’d like to impart to those new to the TARSACCI, that’s REALLY important is.....SWEEP SPEED.
I’ve been discussing this a lot with Keith and Teresa (aka Coilpower), Proper and consistent sweep speed is EXTREMELY important w the Tarsacci. Your sweep should not be really fast like a T2, nor should it really slow. As Keith would say, “it needs to be like your swinging a CZ, ab

That’s pretty cool, they were using the TARSACCI to help out Garrets Pulse Induction.
Hey David can you post this in the TARSACCI thread?
Thanks!
