And tested about the same..For your info CZ3D in most areas will allow no higher than a 5 sens. while keeping a stable unit. Older CZ's must have had different sens. parameters as have ran older digital CZ's 6-7-8 and kept a stable unit. The good news is in most cases a CZ3D set at 4.8 or so will give you just as much depth...So guys talking about running your unit at 10 sens has me los

Lets face it we won't know until its introduced...heck it would sure kill E-trac sales from a business standpoint and devalue E-tracs new or used....

Indeed a nice mod but useless if one mounts the unit under the armcup and most do
to better balance the rather heavy unit and improve ergonomics..

Certainly a sleeper in the old Fisher line that offers nice depth and good ID.
If hunting for coins of course the notch can be used at your discretion depending on what your looking for..

Having used a bunch over the years I know new units are constantly being turned out as companies would soon go out of business if new (improved) were not put on the market.Have to admit a minelab explorer in my opinion has the best guts in the industry...Now lets hope they lighten the load, sell on the installment plan and last but not least come out with a quality product to dig those 20 inch co

Unfortunately we are not playing on a level field..
Some units need to mix with matrix of ground, even two like units may vary and even two clad dimes may vary a tab in composition.
I would bet one of your club members has a test garden buried for years in your neck of the woods and would try your testing in this atmosphere for more accurate results for your info and certainly from State to Sta

I would recommend going to a hardware store and purchasing a variety of thin washers and try them..Remember you want to snug it not overly tighten as could cause premature wear I would think..

Indeed Novus works well for minor scratches and would recommend...Before you do that would say to all never wipe your screen in the field as minute dirt particles
will indeed scratch the screen especially on a dry screen...After your hunt blow the dirt off the screen which can be done in various ways and then use a moistened eyeglass cleaning rag...Another thought is using one of those whites cl

Are you on Meds or visit the local pub before detecting?
Honestly just kidding and life is stranger than fiction and one wonders how far coins fall and how many have we walked over. Thanks for sharing with the forum...

Troy's X-5 with stock coil....weather resistant...well built...light.user friendly
if your not the first owner repaired by Troy not the new Fisher...depthwise 12-13 inches on a silver dime, 14-15inches on a quarter or nickle which really surprised me as even the depth demon CZ's and Explorers are much weaker in the nickle zone...certainly not trying to start a detector war just enterin

Dave living 20 miles or so from you know the ground is medium high on mineralization..Tip for ground balancing keep the volume and sens. at 10 so you can clearly hear the audio for accurate balancing, once balanced move the settings where you may...Most CZ70's can't get the sens much over 4 perhaps 6 and still keep a stable unit..But will still go as deep as other CZ's set higher,

CZ6 indeed had a plastic connector at the box and coil connector was a new type that failed in many as connector kept loosing contact. Thus the CZ6A was introduced and many CZ6's were converted to CZ6A..however many original CZ'6's are still original and work fine. CZ7A being a rod mount only never took off and also used batteries in storage and had a slow pinpoint and thus the CZ7

Every major manufacturer will tell you expect better battery life if you use headphones...Certainly would depend on your unit, type of batteries and headphones along with your setting as I know for sure pinpointing is a big draw along with volume and threshold settings shortening the lifespan...perhaps a call to the manufacturer can answer your multi questions..

New Fisher has new Employees but Tom was instrumental in developing the CZ3D.
Might want to E-mail Tom as I understand he may calibrate your unit time permitting in a busy schedule.

Read somewhere along the way air tests on a CZ3D are not reliable as with old coins signal must mix with the coil matrix...would guess air tests are at best ballpark...Certainly opinions differ but to me in the ground tests with coins buried for years is where its at..

An english major to become a ardent detectorist. Of course no place is ever hunted out...this fall hit an area pounded by many detectorists for 20 years or so and came up with an 1897 Barber half and 1892 barber dime. Those that investigate succeed....As far as knowing am sure companies can produce better units but cost prohibitive as some units sell over a thousand dollars which is out of the re

Don't have positive superior facets but somtimes are small at best. Sort of like jump starting the economy everyone wants the new model which equates to used detectors being sold and the initial company making profits on the new model.Lets face it in the last 10 years how much real progress has been made and many 20 year old units still perform well.

Cost prohibitive to companies as once you had a large coil would not buy a small one meaning less revenues for the companies is one aspect to look at as accessories provide extra revenue for companies, however is a good thought...

F75 is faster, handles iron better, is much lighter with an excellent meter.
CZ3D is user friendly, quiet, and depth demon..
Downsides..CZ likes iron and the F75 is noisy which I believe they call EMI....
Personally if CZ is working well leave well enough alone and stick with it would be my advice as the EMI of the F75 was indeed not my cup of tea..and with the new version hitting the deal

Learn the Explorer well as I feel best on the market...Newer Fisher F series just too darn noisy but again many do well with them...
My all time favorite for simplicty and depth is a CZ but thats another story...
Weight and Ergonomics of Explorer is a minus but if you can overcome that stay with what you have..

Not to worry will still go as deep as older CZ's which one was able to get as high a 8 with the sens. settings...

Old nickles such a Buffalo,V, Shield or deep Jefferson in most cases will read lower on most detectors...Tom handled this well when he designed the CZ3D in advanced mode..
