Being from Ind. i mostly do field, park, and home hunting. The soil is obviously different than the beach. I use the ML SE for most of these locations and ive found it to be a find detector no matter where i travel. Considering getting a place here in Englewood Fl. The SE seems to do a great job on the wet and dry sand. I know many use the Xcal and the CZs. Id like to get something for

If i remember right some complained about the SE when it first came out. That alleged coil problem was fixed soon after. Was it just some that wasnt used to the chatter? Even good hunters sometimes have issues with new machines... they may or may not be true. Why... because they dont use my basic rule "never sell a machine until its paid for its self". At that point you know t

Thanks Smeeks i appreciate your offer. If the wife stops giving me honey dew lists ill let ya know. I hunted today with 3 members from one of the forums over at Bradenton and a beach South of that. It was COOL out there at 7 AM with that North wind blowing down the beach. We only got to hunt until about 11ish. Almost no finds... but no one got in the water the waves even at low tied were

Think of the resale value of a machine tweaked or tested with Toms name on it. If you were upgrading anyway that alone would be worth the money. I think the down side is some people have high expectations, use the machine once, think they are an expert, and start complaining about it not working properly. We already get that on new machines from people who just arent willing to put in th

TD.... i wasnt offended by anyones posts. I love a good sense of humor... not to mention honesty and advice. Thanks guys. I used to travel full time in an RV for many years and i detected a good many of the states. Ive hunted a lot of HUNTED OUT parks and old home sites that turned out to be old barn sites. Every type of hunting has its disappointments... much like fishing, patience

Tom... what can you tell me about a processed signal? Ive read a few of Jeff Fosters books on some of the Whites machines. He implies that a processed signal will loose depth over a true AM in that in AM when not processing the machine just has to give a tone, id, or picture. It knows something is there, but doesnt have to try to correctly ID it. Me and Steve talked a bit and he had a v

Thanks Tom... you know i didnt want to hear that. I knew there hadnt been much storm action. I hunted the Englewood area on the Gulf side last year. There were a lot of hunters out there.... morning and evening. The only advantages i had were... most seemed to be hunting the DEEP dry sand and there were a lot that talked to me that seemed to be new to the hobby and knew little about their

Im down for the winter and have been hunting around the Sebring area. Not much to brag about this year. So im off Mon. or Tues to hit the East Coast here in Fla. The closest point to get there seems to be Hwy 60 which will bring me out by Vero beach. Id like to go North a bit any good beaches between Vero and Melbourne that i shouldnt miss? I used to hunt a lot around St. Augustine dur

Im about to ask what i feel like is a dumb question. Ive been at this a day or two but have never used a PI machine. Is the reason they go deeper the same as any machine being in true AM or pinpointing? In other words they dont go thru a processor that gives us our disc, TID, multi tone and filtering which seems to reduce depth. Dont the PIs still have the same problems ANY detector has

OK that does it if you got BOB now i know CS is going to be nonexistent. Im all for that Tom as long as you are in it for the right reason. Id be surprised if ML gave away very much info even to you. Little nats like me cant even find any one who can tell me what those randomly set 28 freqs are for each channel. I know each channnel has them set randomly unlike their SOV. Id love to k

Thats OK service. I cant see having supervisors if Mike has to take care of these simple DROP THE BALL issues. Sounds like a training issue. Go get um Mike.

How do you think this quick pace has affected the resale? I guess what im asking is if i have one of these earlier detectors has Fisher shot me in the foot where the only option i may have is trade in. I love technology, but a couple of changes then BOOM another detector comes out making mine yesterdays news hurts.
