I can send him one down....
And please don't lump me into the expert group.....I learn something new every trip out....I am always learning like everyone else...I just speak up from time to time to voice some sort of constructive idea's or finding's....
But I will be the first to admit I am no expert....Thank's for the compliment though.....
and again if Tom does not

Yes this is how enamored I am with the At right now....going head to head with the best machine's made right now it hold's it's own and out does them with the Audio nuance and uncanny ability to see through mineralization...
Tested it today against some other machine's....We used a red clay brick really dense and heavy from the mid 1800's....the At was the only machi

been running head to head and the At-Pro in bad dirt is deeper ,..It even deeper than the f-75 LTD...Not that the Ft machine's cant hear the target's but they call deep target's Iron in bad dirt the At-Pro is very stingy when using the iron tone on deep target's...
Get the audio figured out and the At will flat out hunt in trashy environ's...Co-Located target's

become discouraged when the comparison's start...
I have owned/borrowed well over 100 detector's in my life and it is an eye opener to see the differences from one unit to the next on the same model Vs Model....
the bad thing about a lot of them is that's all they are going to ever do even by sending them in for repair....I mean mostly depth wise....there's no fix for th

not too bad but some people did not like it....Still think the S.E. Gold Bug was the best of the bunch after they resolved the issue...but then it morphed into the Pro which is in it's own right a nice machine Just think the S.E. was a little hotter(Deeper)..But heck there not made anymore so moot point now...
And thanks for the thanks .....

And thank's to Tom And Jim and other's for mentioning it also...
It was never my personal intent to attack Garrett....Heck When I found out about the Silver issue on the Gold Bug SE and posted about it I was just wanting answer's...there was some then who said it was a gold machine and they were not worried about it..................................What?????
But anyway I am g

lead you in a direction thinking it is the end all machine.....It is a great machine especially at the price point....I have challenged the LTD in a one on one hunt in an iron infested site both using stock large coil's....
Now with that being said....The At- has no sort of real All metal mode like the LTD...No ground mineral indicator's...No 99 point's of discrimination abili

at around 68-74 or so on the G.B.
Whats weird is you can run the G.B. around on the At and not get falsing...I can balance in at a grab at say 88 and run the G.B down to 70 manually and it works great and really gets deeeep..
Pinpoint is worthless like that because the G.B. is so far off it wont report the target in pinpoint from the ground signal tuning it out but the depth meter works all

and what ever the LTD hear's the Pro hear's and he is running the LTD in boost 2 tone sens around 80....At-Pro 35 iron disc pro mode sens wide open....ground reads about 3 bars 75-80..
He has had the LTD since release...I have had the At-pro a week...it digs more out of the hard hit area's especially in the iron than his LTD...
Now this is just us hunting and in mineralized

probably minor ....I believe if you send one in it will get the fix??? Just speculation..... But I am most certain the coil is the culprit...if and when people get hold of the accessory coil's we will know more ....If the other coil fixes the issue you can bet the Big DD coil is at fault....
The Big DD is a new direction for Garrett and it is a truly amazing coil design......( Coil design

I figured there would be a recall or something.....I really dont enjoy sending a machine in ....I like it work right the first time...I was starting to think it was the way it ran....
Hoped for more but other people stated there's was like this .....
I then got a chance to play with one this week from a dealer friend...
worked great so I purchased on the spot...

As you can see it is crazy stable...I actually hunted a briar patch today and it was full of vine's and stalk's and it was crazy quite...and did manage a couple of Civil war find's...
Still not sure what they did and I had my doubt's that they would silence it but they did....

Well not a whole lot maybe a few extra buck's over say a unfired dropped specimen.. but if it's a" true" Pain bullet it is worth more to me personally because it speaks volume's on the hardship's yet valor the war brought ....Imagine having to bite on a bullet why a "Surgeon" cut's of

nickle would be about 15-16 using the 11 DD...So you can see it affinity preference ....This being the GBSE the G/2 I obtained was slightly/marginally less....
but yes as a gold hunter with ability to coin hunt which is rare in a gold machine it's a first pick..
It will also handle mineralized ground better than most machine's.........It see's in the dirt pretty dang good be

Hey Steve the G-2/GB is a great multi purpose machine for sure ..and exceed's at low conductor hunting...I would say the high conductor silver is acceptable and does fine.. but I believe the Omega will offer more depth on Silver////
this is in my dirt...But the Omega will not gold hunt like the G-2 so .....
The G-2's strong point is gold and that show's ...It will do fine as

about if Dave Johnson incorporated it into the G2/GB platform...I seriously doubt it after using them...My honest opinion...
the design must be Troy's own design?

Confederate cavalry button from the civil war...They were made in England during the War year's and ran through the Blockaded port's of the south to get to the confederacy...
the button is 7/8 of an inch plain backgound with a lined block letter C denoting Cavalry branch of service...
Extremely hard to find ...My first in a quarter century of relic hunting...I have all way's

While the P.I.s do run in threshold based all metal mode the P.I. is using a different transmit system and if the ground is mineral free the VLF and the P.I. would be about the same depth wise but the vlf will loose depth quicly in mineral while the P.I. stays pretty much just as deep as if it where in neutral ground...
The P.I. by design just ignores the mineral through pulse delay while th

Gary is right it is just a shifter Middle is like 19khz then high is 19.3khz then low is 18.7khz...
Not for sure he tweaked it ??? I just know the guy was his buddy and they hunted together but he got out of hunting and sold it....Still with the erratic noise you can see the depth is there just like on everyone I ever had.... 17 inch nickle's was the norm...this one I have here just seem

once you get into the carpet scenario of nails especially when they are blanketed on the top of the ground and at depth ... there is no technology that can see the non-ferrous target's...
Most of the places I hunt are Like Jbow's ...you see half a dozen nails on every hole you dig..it really come's into chasing the pop's and click's and getting lucky ...try thinning th
