Thank you both for that info. For hunting those deeper old coins in older spots and old parks, which detector will give me the best results and what size coil should I use on both based on the 2 detectors I own? I'm always hearing about how deep the cz-3d will go in older areas. I'm just wondering how it would standup to my explorer se with a bigger coil. Tom and Keith please give me yo

Thank you Keith for that info. I do own a nel coil but have yet to try it on my explorer. I am just looking to get the most depth I can from my explorer se so I can go back to a lot of my old hunting spots in the hopes of finding some deeper older coins. So you think the 10x12 S.E.F will go deeper than the nel? How do you think the 10.5" coil on the cz-3d will do up against the nel or sef co

Thinking of trying the Nel Tornado coil on my Minelab se. Want to know if this is a good coil to get extra depth over the standard Minelab coil and how does it stand up to the Ultimate 13" coil? The Tornado and Ultimate coil appear to be the same in size and shape. Please let me know what you all think. Thanks

I have a minelab explorer se that I really enjoy using. How does the e-trac compare to the se in depth and all around performance?

I have a minelab explorer se and just purchased a 1021 fisher cz-3d. Could someone explain the pro's and con's of both metal detectors and the best places to use both. How do they compare in detection capabilities? What makes one better or worst depending on the location you are planning on detecting? Can they be used at the same location at the same time without interfering with each o

Hello, thanks junior88, I'm wanting to try out my cz-3d and my girl friend wants to try metal detecting for the first time. I never knew that 2 cz-3d couldn't hunt together. I have a se pro and I am a Garrett dealer so I can get any detectors Garrett makes at dealer cost. She wanted to start out with a ace 350. Thanks for the info.

I just bought a 1021 series cz-3d that is in meant condition that I am waiting for the weather to break to try out. I was told it had been calibrated by Tom D. at one time. I also bought a 1121 series cz-3d for my girlfriend that was calibrated by Tom D. at 11.6". We are going to try make it out Sunday for our first hunt using these cz's. I bought them because I was told they were very

The reason I am asking is because I have been told that the cz-3d is a very deep seeking coin machine. Was told a hot calibrated cz-3d by Tom D. would pickup a dime size coin at 12"+ with a 8" coil in the ground in certain soil conditions. Then someone told me of this shadow x-5 that claims to go even deeper on a dime than the cz-3d. So I thought I would ask this question on this foru

Hello, Thank you both for your info. I would like to know what Tom D. thinks about what Keith had to say since he is the engineer of the cz-3d.

Hello, Can anyone tell me about the Shadow X5 and how it stands up to a CZ-3D for depth and all around hunting capabilities. I have a 1021 series CZ-3D that I was told had been calibrated by Tom D. back in 2010. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No, this has scam written all over it. I own a jewelry shop and buy gold every day. Stay away from any ad selling gold out of Africa. It is a scam.

Thanks for the info but, why would this person have his eBay set up this way on this item and it being the only bid they made to only back out after winning the item. They said the guy backed out on his bid because he said he couldn't come up with the money to pay for it. But yet he set it up so he would be the garrenteed winner by having a machine bid for him faster than anyone could with

Thanks guys for the support. What I don't understand is. How was this guy able to out bid me in .2 of a second? I never dreamed someone would out bid me and do it so fast. Really makes me wonder if it was as you say. A shill. I don't want to think that Ed from treasure Mountain uses those kind of tactics to get the most out of his detectors. I just pray it's not true and just live

Hello, I did not know that Tom sold cz-3d,s. He never said anything about selling them. If I had none all this it would have saved me some time and money. Thanks for the info.

Hello, This is McCrory. I went back to ebay and check the guy out that had the high bid on the cz-3d. His bid came in .24 of a second after my bid. The high bid was at $600 and I knew there was only second left to bid so I bid this crazy number thinking that know one would come close to it. Next thing I know I am out bid by $10. I never dreamed that someone would out bid me at that price. The guy

Hello, My brother contacted me today and said he saw some video's on Youtube by someone called Shelby Voll that had done depth comparisons tests. Coins were buried in the ground and starting at 6" then 8" then 10" and 12". According to this guys test the Tesoro Tejon was far better and much deeper than both the cz-3d and ctx 3030. According to him the ctx 3030 was last at

Hello, I recently bought a cz-3d off of e-bay for $726. It was a demo model that had been sent to Tom D. to be calibrated. It was in like new condition and came with a extra 5" coil. It also came with a 5 year warrantee. That being said, why would that be a bad deal? Yes it calibrated out to only 10.3 " on a dime but, as Tom D. has said many times. You could get a New cz-3d and pay $90

Hello, I am looking for a older or new cz-3d that has been calibrated to go at lest 12 inches in a ground test on a dime. Don't care if it is a 1021 or 1121 series. Must also be Tom D. approved. Money is not a problem. Thanks, Kevin

I am thinking of getting a fisher gold bug 2 to use for micro jewelry hunting. Never used a gold nugget detector before and am just wondering where would be some good places to use this type of detector besides gold nugget hunting. I have seen Tom D. Use them on a beach on dry sand. Where else can you use them? I live in Indiana. Not any gold nuggets around here. Thanks, Kevin

Tom, I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed your video's. I learned so much. I have never been ocean or fresh water detecting. After watching your video's I always knew a gold nugget detector would be a good ideal for looking for small gold jewelry. Just wondering if that work any where besides the beach like on regular ground or just on sandy ground? Can you recommend a gold detec

Tom, I was reading something you wrote about how far a coin will sink in the ground based on the type of soil it's in. I live in southern Indiana in Jennings county and was just wondering if you knew how far a coin would have sank since the 1800's or 1900's. How deep would my detector need to be able to detect to find a lot of coins from that era based on the type of soil in my par
