I always like to have the facts, so, did some further research on the Aqua Pulse. Seems the manufacturer (Aquascan), has been around awhile, and makes quality products for the diving/exploration crowd. Here's a blurb I copied from their website...btw, notice the bit about the detector being able to detect objects UP TO 10 FEET AWAY! Say what?!?!

Yeah, that's a mighty good question, Keith
I know J.W. Fisher's unit are quite pricey, but, they're professional use diving machines. I never even heard of Aqua Pulse before. Could be a private label thing with Kellyco. They sell soooooo many units there, but, the margins on them are small. They might be private labeling machines under different brands to capture bigger profits

Thanks for all the replies, fellas! Yeah, this choice is a tough one. Question (especially for you, Keith)...
One having a slight edge on depth (for coins) doesn't concern me that much, as I'm more interested in sniffing out keepers co-located in/around iron versus depth. So, with that in mind, is the iron I.D. capability equal on both units? Meaning, can one hear the 'chirp

Guys, I'm looking for a unit that excels at unmasking, mostly for coins, to use at my sites. To be clear, I don't really have sites I hunt that are 'carpet of nails' type places. However, at most of my spots, there ARE areas that are heavily iron. The Safari & CZ just can't cut the mustard in these places. So, I'm looking at both the AT Pro & AT Gold. Need op

Hey guys, I'm gonna be picking up a Sov soon. Does anyone know, or can someone recommend a person that does the waterproof cases? I'm sure there's probably a few folks who can do these mods, so, if anyone has a contact that would be great

Beeman, what will you PRIMARILY be using the Safari for? If indeed it's to use in sites with heavy amounts of iron - as Deathray mentioned - you might have a difficult time w

Did you receive the tee already, Keith? I'm so busy nowadays, I don't know if I'm coming or going, lol.
Thanks for the listing, hope the unit sells faster than water in the desert, for you!

I more than anyone hope a cutting-edge, breakthrough unit is released soon...especially from Fisher. To be fair though, the CTX, Deus & others represent a pretty big leap forward in terms of technology, IMO. Can anything coming down the pipe come close to these units? I hope so, but, it would be a tall order. As I've said in many posts before...

Couple of points. First...
I agree 110% with Keith's assessment. The Safari IS a heavyish unit...especially for a lady, so, do take that into consideration. Personally, I don't think she'll have a major problem using it for a couple of hours at a clip, but, after that, the arms DO tend to get a bit tiresome.
If you DO opt for the Safari though, you cannot go wrong IMO I swi

Thanks for the info, guys! Yes, I know it being a PI unit, there's no discrim, just wondering if it was better handling black sand scenarios better than an Excal or CZ. I'm not going to be using it for diving (which I know it's mainly used for), only beach hunting in the wet & maybe waist deep. Yeah, based on the feedback, I'll probably go Sand Shark if I opt for a PI, and

Anyone here ever try the Pulse 8X by JW Fisher? I was reading some specs, reviews & watching some videos, and it seems like a great beach machine. Just looking for opinions as I might pick one up for my beach hunting, but, what are the advantages of this unit over say, an Excal, Sov or CZ21? Is the JW's 'edge' in dealing with black sand/mineralization due to it being a pulse? C

It's not bad, as I know a guy that runs with one and he does fantastic. Just gotta slow down, as Minelab's in general aren't exactly known for their fast processor speed...moreso in sites with a ton of garbage. Now, if you w

I'm sure some of you picked up on the twinge of sarcasm in my post Clearly a low brow unit aimed at the entry level crowd. And yes, as the other poster mentioned, including a GPS on this unit is like including a speedometer on a moped. Trying to piggyback off that duck shows success with, at best, a beginners unit. Not bad for a kid or someone just entering the hobby, but, I run with a Mine

Kellyco is selling these Si Robinson camo detectors. I think this guy is on tv, and they're obviously doing a cross promotion. Anyone know anything about these detectors? I don't mean the whole camo part (that's simply a marketing thing), but rather the detector itself?
Is this a private label detector Kellyco is putting out? It appears that way. I'm not looking at getting

If it is, I will be the first guy in line to buy CZ 1021 depth, multiple frequencies, simplicity & ease of use AND waterproof?! This has to be too good to be true, where did you hear this news?
I was thinking along the same lines as everyone else - that the 'new' unit is a multiple frequency F75 or T2, which is what was alluded to on Dig Wars.
If this is true, WOW!!!

Way to go on the yellow! Nah, detecting is like riding a bike, one never forgets how...you only get better
I've used the F5 before, it's a KILLER machine. Operation, weight, etc. is very similar to an Omega IMO. The F5 is one of the few machines that I actually think is UNDER priced on the market. For the price point, you get a LOT of detector!
Curious...what VDI did the band wit

I would absolutely laugh my a$$ off if I saw someone using that giant coil metal detecting in a park. I don't think I'd ever use something that large, but, to each their own On a separate note, god only knows what people would think seeing a detectorist use this. I guess if someone called the coppers though, you could just lift the coil above your head & use it as a propeller &

Folks, this is starting to get ridiculous. Eyeballed this article online today. Sure, it's Sweden & not the US, but, once these things start becoming common knowledge, how soon before other places adopt the same asinine regulations. Imagine enjoying a harmless hobby for many years, and then being told it's banned, or, there are so many restrictions in place, you cant get a permit to

Yep, proves my point...
Get someone that's having a bad day (like we all do occasionally), and they feel like unloading their stress on an innocent party - in this case, a harmless detectorist simply enjoying a fun hobby.
It happens more than one would think. VERY glad you did your due diligence & didn't just lay down. This treasure hunter for one, salutes you sir!!!

Something to keep in mind, guys...
Just because one or two people approach and claim that a park you've been hunting is suddenly off-limits, doesn't mean that's actually the case. Best to (politely) challenge authority in a case like this. I would ask the person making such a claim (cop, grounds worker, etc.) for their credentials; name, badge #, etc. Then I'd go home &
