Del, there are few places I cannot run the Omega at a 99 sen. As Keith mentioned, though, it is a must to have the coil connection tight. I find I use the 5"dd for my park hunting almost as much as the 10 and 11" combined. But, each have their place.HH jim tn

You are right, Ray. I picked up a local history book at a small book store while recently up in Minnesota and learned of several potential hunting spots. Good tip! HH jim tn

One of the great things about this hobby is with research, one has a chance for relics and silver and gold. I still get a tingle even after 40 years, though, of seeing the glint of silver down in the hole. HH jim tn

I think a number of detector companies are just now catching up to the T 2 and F 75 platforms, which originally came out some years ago now. Granted, some may now be equal and a couple better at target response/unmasking, but seemingly, F T got the ball rolling in this area, so to speak. Considering the time span since the T 2 and F 75 first came out F T has had several years to be working on the

The Omega is the most enjoyable coin shooter I have ever used. No, it doesn't get quite the in ground depth as the cz's, T 2 or F 75, (LTD/SE) but has a much more stable id...at least in my ground. For me the 11" DD is deeper then the 10" concentric and the 5" DD is about equal to the 10." I seldom have emi issues with mine, but there are a few spots that I do and ha

I have three coils for the Omega, stock 10," 11" dd and 5"dd. All three get used and have their place, but the 10" gets used the most followed by the 5." The 5" truly is a must for trashy spots and will amaze you by what it can do in the trash and with its depth for its size. Where ultimate depth, ground coverage and target separation is required, then the 11" d

For woods hunting, the F 75 LTD/SE is great. Often, with brush, vines and stubble like growth the coil is often several inches off the ground, but with it's B P mode I can still dig mini's, dime size coins and the like at very good depths. Depths of 7-8" are not un-common with the coil several inches off the ground. That is with the 11DD coil and not much difference with the smalle

Gold rings, ladies 70 %, mens 30 %.
Silver rings, 60 % ladies and children, mens 40%
I find quite a bit more ladies silver jewelry over all then mens.
I seldom purposely hunt for gold except when at the beach when I dig it all. Almost all gold I find hits in the nickel/tab range and some in the zinc range.

I love hunting the woods. In my part of Tn woods hunting is best done during late fall and the winter months do to tics, heavy vegetation and crawling creatures. As far as depth, I find most woods targets to be shallower then those of the same period found in turf. And, decaying vegetation doesn't seem to hurt coins and typical relics any more then normal. It depends on the ground and the cz. I had a cz3d, F 75 and now the F 75 LTD. I've dug deeper coins with both F's and it's not a contest in iron/trash. HH jim tn

Coil sizes I believe can make a difference, too. I have the Omega and the F 75 LTD and on sites that I've used them both, the numbers seem to vary no more then 5 points and that is with the 10" coil on one and the 11" on the other. HH jim tn

With less modification, I have found my LTD seemingly to perform better in same emi spots then did my regular F 75. I, however, have gotten a good bit better in selecting the best performing frequency with my LTD via frequency shift then, I did with the F 75. HH jim tn
