Just FYI, the Fedex tracking info shows that my Impact shipped from Knoxville, Tennessee,
NOT from Kellyco's Florida location. Apparently Kellyco has a big warehouse in
(or near) Knoxville.

Just got my tracking number via email from Kellyco.
I specified (and paid for) ground shipping when I ordered on Feb. 20.
Mine is coming via Fedex ground home delivery, estimated to be on Tuesday, April 25.
Those who live closer than California to Kellyco might get theirs sooner, or if they
paid for more rapid delivery.
Other forums today have also shown a few buyers have received tracking

Chris from Kellyco posted on Treasurenet that the Impacts have arrived
at Kellyco, and they are being scanned in and will be shipped to Kellyco
customers ASAP.

OK, thanks. I suspected we are now dependent on Kellyco to process everything and
get it out to customers, but I was hoping there might be a shortcut.
Thanks for doing your part, Nokta (and Dilek)!
Now it's up to Kellyco to do ITS part.

Does this mean the estimated delivery TO KELLYCO is on Thursday for the first shipment,
and on Friday for the second? Or are the goods forwarded directly to the customers
or dealers who ordered them?
I'm trying to understand if Kellyco will receive every new Impact and have to process
it and then forward it to dealers. (Or, in the case of customers who ordered from
Kellyco, just sen

Well, I don't want to be overly skeptical, but when I lived in the Washington, D.C. area,
there was a thunderstorm almost EVERY afternoon during the summer.
Maybe it was just distant thunder.

Thanks! I hope you're right. And I hope the Impact comes soon
so I can find out for sure.

Well, my arms are a little long, but not incredibly so.
My wingspan is 6'8". (That's the last of my physical
dimensions I'm providing.)

Uh-oh! I'm not happy to read this comment. My Impact is on order.
My Racer has been fine for me, in terms of length for my height.
I was expecting the Impact would be about the same. Is there any
option for me to extend th

If the shallowest reading you saw was 5, you probably still have the Racer
showing depths in centimeters, not inches. When you reset it to show inches,
the shallowest reading it shows is 2. (2 inches = 5 centimeters.)
So 15 (centimeters) is really 6 inches, if that's what is happening.

Nokta has updated the Impact User Manual to correct the error that NASA-Tom
spotted. If you download it again, the headers in Table 1 are now correct.

I think you're right. I should have seen that myself.
Just exchange the parenthetical phrase in the two headers
and it will be right. Correct

I just want to point out that Nokta's (and Makro's) policy of being as open as possible to
users when they develop new products extends to their User Manual also.
I bought a Racer when they first came out two years ago. I love it. When the Racer 2 came
out a year ago, I was interested and read the User Manual as soon as it was posted.

Thanks for the link!
I tried contacting two other Nokta dealers over the weekend, but got no
response. That's probably due to it being Sunday, and then the Monday
holiday in the U.S.
Anyway, I got impatient and ordered a Pro Pack from Kellyco.
Full MSRP, no discount. Let's see how it goes.

I'm not trying to be a smart alec here, but you've actually posted your own solution (or work-around, anyway).
Use the small coil in trashy parks! That's what it excels at.
Yes, it would be ideal if the standard coil could do everything exactly the way you want, BUT Makro

Interesting discussion and many good points made so far.
Yes, the number of variables that affect sinkage is huge, so any simple
explanation is unlikely to be accurate. However, the point by the OP that
stands out to me is how he can poke a Garrett pinpointer five inches into
the ground pretty easily. This sounds like not-at-all dense dirt to me.
I'd expect objects to sink into it v

Scraps of plexiglass would probably be most economical, but another alternative
would be resin. You could cast a solid resin block with a coin and, optionally, a nail or
another junk signal in another position, like Keith describes. Then you could rotate
the solid resin block to have any of the six sides upward to alter the target positions
relative to each other.
I wish my father were s

Keep going with this hobby, and you'll soon discover that
you DO have an entire arsenal full of detectors. Every now

Based on the responses posted, it sounds like it's your PC, not the forum.
Lots of things can make a PC run slow, or access the Internet slowly (two
separate issues, by the way). A defrag might help, as suggested, although
that's usually most helpful when your hard disk is nearly full. Deleting a bunch
of temporary files that have accumulated over the years is a good way to
