Don’t worry about the nay-sayers TNSS... your doing our community a fine job writing unbiased observations on a detector that is hard to get.
I have learned a lot from your posts and really enjoy the Equinox. Apparently Minelab wanted “experts” to use the prototype detector and to ban into eternity any field usage notes or
“Official” data and field notes of the like. This, leaves us with a vo

Those machines must be good. I’ve never seen one below $500.. even the DFX and the MXT all pro. The V3i I had was a tough nut to crack but they wildly range from $600-$1200 pending on options, I sold mine for $750 I too one day would like to try and MXT.
Also if your on Facebook look up Metal Detecting Buy Sell and Trade.

Deus is a great machine. Though deep... beyond 8 inches VDI goes out in my soil. Etrac will have vdi and tone to 10 on a silver dime (in clean soil with h little trash)
I’m at US silvers this year 15 have been with the Etrac and 1 with the deus. If that tells you anything. Just me.. Etrac slams silver.

From the manual:
Manual Ground Balance
Ground Balance can be manually adjusted until the minimum amount of ground signal is heard.
1. Press the Settings button to navigate to the Ground Balance setting in the Settings Menu.
2. Raise and lower the coil repeatedly over a clear patch of soil that does not contain any targets.
Listen to the audio response to interpret the result of the Ground Ba

I wonder when the restriction ends? We learned so much about the Nokta... was hoping for the same with the Equinox.

I believe there is a small issue with outer ring coil sensitivity... almost like the outside of the coil is detecting along with the “blade” detection field of the center of the coil.
I’m not saying it’s a huge problem, but when trash is near by, Ive missed many targets by 6 inches laterally 6 times now.
Deus and Etrac and T2 I’ve used are not affected by this.
I hope when Toms Gag orde

Today I pulled a 9 inch merc with the Equinox. Moist ground park 2. Sens 22 speed 5. It’s good about giving a high tone telling me a high conductor is there. It did bounce some but stayed in high 20’s to 30’s. I’m going back to the site soon and I’ll change some settings to see if it works better.
I’ve been hunting in multi 50 tones. Auto GB.

Today I went to an old school. Working a slope near an old baseball field I got a faint high tone. It blanked out and went to 30-33.
I was using Park 2 tracking GB. Speed 5. Multi/50 tones.
And I got it on film! I’ll edit my video later this evening.

So I was out of work on business (just so happened to be in the same town my dealer is!) so I picked up my Equinox 800.
I charged it all the way home. Put it together and ran out to my hammered school. (Closed for good)
I ran park 2 the whole time. The unit is light, coil doesn’t false much at all AND I really like the Handel that vibrates more on shallow targets vs softer on deep ones.
