Hi Vincent,
Don't know what to tell you on that score? I do remember there was "an issue" when they first appeared?
"Which" stock coil do you have? Mine is the 'smaller' camo elliptical and not the larger 11"
I'd guess the 11" [ might do ] 11" on a coin in good conditions?

Yes & Yes
Threshold adjustable from 0 Silent to 20 Full on and at that range a target won't increase the already very Loud Threshold (keep it Low)
VCO can also be used in AM and another 'advantage' is 'Iron Grunt audio' can also be 'Turned On'
Target ID's appear to be accurate also in AM on fast single sweeps

Hi tabman,
My history goes back to 1977 and as we all know there was NO information available then except magazines.
A wait of a month before the next magazine to hit the shelves was always anticipated.
Would the 'next issue' show [ a New detector ] model from a manufacturer?
If it did it [ usually ] made some [ claims ] and when the "detector" was purchased disappointme

Yeah, I'd agree with 'tnsharpshooter'
I've had them both on while testing & filming and never noticed any real interference?
But that's not to say that it might be there but not audible...
The Red Racer was really bad in the vicinity of electric fences but I was happy to witness the R2 is so much better...hardly a blip where previously a Red was 'unusable!

virginia digger,
I acquired a VERY clean 1270 today...
It's TOO EARLY to say [ Which ] is Best? Racer 1 or racer 2...jury's still out...even John Grisham's confused......!!!!!!!!!
But, what I do suspect is in years to come people will say: "The `racer red ' was better?????//?/////?

"Me again......
I'm thinking about going back to that patch and doing 2 things.
1. Dig and fold back a few feet like lawn turf...just lift and roll
2. Use the OOR coil - I've a feeling it's 'sharper'? (it was very sparky on the Red but didn't use it yet on the R2)
There's a men's gold signet ring "with blue stone" lost there!!! (

I went back to the iron patch as seen in some other "Racer 2" videos.
This time I took the NEW Racer 2's Small coil at 5.5" and is perfectly round complete w/coil cover.
I liked it! It 'unmasked' several of those "iffy sounds" heard with the standard 11" coil.
Nothing earth shattering found but it was interesting and there are plenty more si

"Nice video...pretty much what people want to see!" Well done to whoever filmed that?
No messing about, not much wind noise, no excessive pointer beeping and ...plenty of targets!

Bill,
Thanks to you for going out and making a video, I thought you and the MXS did very well...a ring (on previously hunted ground) and several coins...not bad considering the MXS was just out the back of the FedEx truck!
The audio from "Whites's" machines is what it is: it's "big" and broad but therein lies a lot of information.
Like any other detector, th

Hah!
I posted on the very SAME Topic AND Target some years ago on another forum!
Seems [ some detectors ] have the ability [ to spot 2 different ] components i.e. a bolt and a washer
Brain freeze has come 'cos I cannot for the life of me remember much about what "I deduced" at the time?
Note: I was probably pitting 2 detectors against each other at the time same as what you
