My comment on CD beach hunting was not meant to be derogatory but to show he may not be aware of these factors. I never stated he was trying to pass himself off as an expert. Only other time he goes is if the wife wants to go. He states that on one of his earlier video's. I will try to run up to Sunset Beach this Sunday with my Tarsacci and stick a nickel in the sand the same way.

I know the beach he was at and I hunt it occasionally(rarely). Sanded in and flat. For the most part if you find anything it would be a fishing weight or tourist trash. CD only goes on the beach when he is doing a test. Not a beach hunter. lol

Owned the Racer 2 and the Gold and while they have some neat usable options, with the stock coil I was not impressed with the depth. The Racer 2 with the 51/4" oval coil was the ticket in heavy iron. Pulled a lot of silver in spots that needed the fast response separation and descrimination. Light weight and balanced with no issues of build quality.

Guys we are talking about Friendly's! Who cares? Banned or just don't go there like myself. Guys I have met CD several times and I find him to be a soft-spoken southern gentleman and the way I see it doesn't need to waste his time with your opinion. If he says he believes he's been banned you are wasting your breath so let's talk MDing!

I paid 800 for the EQ800 when it came out so price is close and seems like a value at that price. Performance will tell. Chinese aren't the only ones who can back engineer a MD. I guess in some ways it would come down to the algorithm used. I will let you know when I get mine. Is it possible the designing was done in Turkey and built somewhere else cheaper? I have been greatly disappointed i

I have spoke to my local dealer and got in line. I need a good yard hunter as I already have one deep ass md for the beach. I have had the Racer 2 and the Gold when they came out and they were super fast for the time and when the Racer 2 was paired with the 5" oval coil it would pull coins out of trash where the E Trac couldn't. I was never a fan for the feel of the EQ being nose heavy

I have to join the choir and say without this forum I would have moved on down the road. What you get here is not only technical info but the insight into it so layman like me can understand and use it to help increase quality of finds. I feel most can take a md and go to a virgin or lightly hunted site and get a nice find. Its finding the one that got missed because of masking, a hard hunted sit

I'm 6' and like coil closer to me so I don't hyper extend my shoulder. I like the 12" balance. It doesn't feel as nose heavy like I get with the Equinox with its 11" coil. Its my understanding that Black Sand on doesn't effect depth but can

With the beach looking better than it has in a couple years I have taken the plunge and ordered the 12" Beast. I used the 13" Ultimate on my E Trac and the benifits of the coverage and added depth was worth the cost. Only it was not waterproof and if not careful moisture would ruin it. Enjoyed taking to you Arron and look forward to trying the Beast out.

Some cold water you are in. Got to be in the 50's. Just wondering what you do with your bottles. When I was doing that type of diving I had to dust it when on display at home so I sold my brass port holes and musket parts because of that. Nice finds.

Nice toy. Had a 70 Evinrude just like it on my 1980 16' bow rider. Carry a spare spark plugs as they are prone to foul. Balance the tanks on both sides. Surprised since your diving under 30ft you haven't got the new tank system that is out for shallow diving. Tank half the size and last as long as you can stay in the cold water. Lots of islands in Georgetown/Charleston area that had lo

I'm attending a club hunt next weekend and putting it to the test on a 400 acre farm with a boat load of CW history. This site has produce some great finds and hunted a great deal by a small group of people. Sandy soil and I imagine lots of minerals from fertilizers made of manure and iron in the upper Pee Dee. Should be a good crowd and sure some finds still left to be had so I am trying an

All rivers in the upper Pee Dee have flooded and they come together in Winyah Bay in Georgetown or the several rivers in mid state that end in Charleston area. That backs up the rivers trying to exit there and water is stained and moving super fast. Can't see or stick to the bottom in those conditions.

I almost always used 18 but have dropped to 12 as of late. I have had no concerns but will pay closer attention today. My 8000 chatters like crazy if I set my coil down to dig. I have to hold it up or lay it down. So lite though not much of an issue its the scoop that's kicking my butt!

Somehow fate has targeted my left hand. Healthy other wise for an old fart. Staying safe but still living life. I learned when I was into Scuba that you keep you hands out of all orifices period if you want to keep your snice's and ear drums flexible. I have a primo spot for a week at Jetty Park in October. Hoping beach conditions are better than in 19' and the love bugs season has pas

I live 10 minutes from CD. These settings are what I have been using since last year. Beaches are pretty much like Fla beaches with no black sand. Every beach in a 50 mile range except for one was replenished 2 to 2.5 years ago and they are slowly starting to look normal. Now if the people come back and the local ring finder breaks both hands lol we may have some finds this year.

I use a carrot every time I go to speed things up. A lot of the tiniest targets are hard for me to see. I have no problem at all with the PP in my apron. Are you leaving it on? Still it doesn't interfere at least that's my experience.

Beach your on in video is the flattest around. I was there today and left not long after. One fishing weight and pop tab. First day I have had to hunt in months. Surprised I didn't run into you. I was there just before low tide around 11. Try the next one north and will find better conditions there south of pier for a uncontrolled hunt. If you are planning to bury your own targets then it

They don't help themselves with the arrival date stated when shipped and it doesn't leaving shipping hub until the day after! Set up expectations the USPS can't meet! With a little luck I will see out for delivery posted this morning.

Good news there is an update on number. It is in the main hub of my little town bypassing at least one if not more stops along the way. Should be at the door at some point tomorrow so like a pit bull I will stand watch. Low tide is around 7:15pm so slap on the Bluetooth and its off to the races. I still have one battery and the charger from last unit. Now if I can grab it and get it to the man c

They are like a "slow boat to China". My MDT was shipped on the 31st. Goes to the area hub on the 1st sits there for 5 DAYS! On the 5th the tracking states "In transit arriving late". While the snail mail doesn't update their tracking as much as they should siting for 5 days and now no update is poor way to do business. The storm moved sand and my beach MD is lost in ship
