Just to clarify the DVD's that I sold and have the masters for are the Tom Dankowski Two DVD Seminar, Relic and Beach hunting. I don't have or know about Advanced Treasure Hunting DVD's. Tom if you could advise on the existance of the Advanced Treasure Hunting DVD's.
I don't want to make and sell the wrong DVD's

tracyjm,
Are you referring to the Dankowski Seminar DVD's? My club put those out and had 250 sets but all have been sold for some time. I do have the Master's and could burn a few sets. as time allows me. I'm not sure what the price would be but should be similar to the originals except not packaged as nice.

I've had an X-5 since they first came out and still have it. I missed not having tone ID but it is a very good machine. I hunt FL beaches most of the time and could rinse the maching at the showers as I left the beach. Light weight made it easy to detect all day. I would recommend a plastic cap for the descrimination toggle. It made my thumb a little sore after a while without it. Several o

Rapid Roy,
I'm getting the masters back from the people that made the pressings the first time. . I have to order at least a 100 sets to get done at the media place I used and it would be cost prohibitive. If I can produce good copies I'll make a few up for those that still need a set I'll let you know by posting it when I get satisfactor copies!!

Rapid Roy,
My first trip to Florida was in 1952 (I was 16 then) to visit an Aunt & Uncle that lived in one of those old green trailers. They were at what was then billed as the largest trailer park, Kiwanis owned and operated, in Bradenton, located immediately adjacent to Sarasota. I came back again in 1954 with a buddy of mine and spent a month there. They had an old cabin tent set up wi

Keith,
After all the hurricanes of 2004 & 2005 tore up the beaches over there, those that didn't mind taking a few risks did very well. ..... But afterwards they brought in the dredges and filled the beaches with new sand. Although finds can still be found it is a lot more barren than it used to be.
I live on the Gulf coast in the Tampa Bay area and they have re-nourished the beaches

Just my 2 cents, I am a retired Police Sgt. and our pension has nothing to do with public funds. We paid 4 % into a private police pension that was overseen by the City. It is a good pension that fortunately is protected by State Statute and not accesible to any polititions. As far as the 20 - 30 yr retirements, there is very few jobs that could compare to a policemans daily routine. Consider bei

Forum mates,
For your information the 2 DVD set, Relic & Beach hunting seminar put on by Tom Dankowski and produced by Suncoast Research & Recovery Club has sold out except for 2 sets. We will be disbabling the Pay Pal account to avoid someone ordering some that I couldn't provide. I considered pressing more but sales have slowed to the point that it wouldn't be economically

I was stationed in 29 Palms while in the Marines and it is not far from Joshua Tree. My only advice I can contibute is don't go in July or August, them 120 plus degree days will wear you out. I used to find a lot of old gold mines out in the desert and I could never understand how they got out there to dig them and hoped they found some nuggets to reward their awful living conditions while d

Scott,
I've had a Shadow X-5 for about 5 - 6 years and it is an excellent machine.Very lite weight, weather proof, very sensitive. Operating on 19 khz..The only thing missing is tone ID. Keith Southern did some very impressive testing with nickels being detected around 18 inches as I rercall. I had some deep recoveries but didn't measure them. The only detector that I like better is

Ozzie & Terra,
Ozzie I agree with you, with all the miles of beach to do I would respect that area and Terra, as a matter of fact as often as our club does go there I have never heard about the 1000 foot zone. Maybe Tom has heard something?? In our hobby unless we know for sure it's always better to play it safe.

Tom,
I'll be there! Info for the forum is that I have only 22 DVD's of the Relic & Beach Hunting Seminar left that was put on by Tom at my club. I will be taking those to the convention. Consequently it was decided to shut down the Pal Pal. If there are any DVD's left when I return we will open Pay Pal and let you know should anybody be interested in purchasing.
Hope to get

Connortn,
I stopped by a place that specializes in canoes, kayaks and other water sports and picked up a pair of water shoes that had a snug elastic ankle collar. Brand name was "Water Tennies" with name on the heel of SH2OES.with 2 being small to indicate H2O. The sole ts very durable that allows you step on almost any object without injury. There are built in drains that eliminate

Aaron,
It don't take long for the sand to come back in. Like Tom says you need to get rid of 14 - feet of sand to get down to the goodies but.... It only takes 2 - 3 feet of sand to come back in and put your targets beyond reach. You can still work the cut in the dune but the majority of the hunt area is gone with just a few feet washing back in.
Over on the Gulf coast where I live we

I have had a Shadow X5 and X2 for about 6 years. The X5 is an excellent machine. Weather proof, deep detecting and does have a toggle that will help you to decide dig or no dig.. Center default position functioned the same as dscrimination setting. Toggle up to detect coins or down to detect jewelry in the nickle or lower range. Both of these ranges self return to center position. Mine had a full

Floating sifters seem like a good idea but......they seem to always be in the way or not where they are handy to get to. I tried one and wasn't real happy with it. During a discussion at a club meeting the general concensus was they weren't worth it. It seems that being able to dump the scoop and rummaging through to find your target.is a very good idea. I used a Garrett gold sifter wit

Just to add to earlier post I have never had any water leakage in CZ20, battery compartment or electronics. With my old 1280X I did have the battery compartrment leak, which only required changing battery wiring and clip. I rarely used the CZ20 for land hunting other than for a short while waiting for sunrise before entering the sea water with it's vast array of not always friendly critters.

I've had my CZ20 since 1995 and haven't had a bit of trouble. I have heard about leaking pin points but not first hand from any of my club members. I don't normally use the pin point button that much and usually just do the "X" over the target. Once in a while you get a stubborn target and using the pin point in that case could help but, at least for me, that would be the

Scoopman, Ed Mattews, made very good scoops and was located in Vero Beach. Last I heard he and his dad were salvaging trees from the bottom of the St. Johns River.
Tom do you know if he is still around somewhere?? I would still like to get scoops from him.

Anyone interested in getting the 2 DVD Seminar set goto www.srarc.com and click on Dankowski DVD located in the Navigator Bar. I have about 25 sets left but sales have slowed enough that I'm a little
reluctant to get more unless I get enough response. It is a big expense for a club to undergo as a minimum order is a 100 sets and they would be more costly, per set, than the first 250 sets I

Hurricanes can make with some interesting detecting depending on the direction of the wind. Over on the east coast south of the Cape Canaveral area is the infamous Treasure Coast but the winds need to be
out of the NE and sustained up in the 50mph category for a couple of days to start making a decent cut in the sand. My club is on the Gulf Coast but we have a call out system set up

Bob,
Here in my area the main criteria is whether the beach or park has parking meters. The people have to carry quarters to fed the meters so a lot of them are lost. Another factor is some areas (Clearwater Beach) have a high number of wealthy residents so the penny and nickel count seems to be much lower. It seems that without the meters and outside of Fanatasy Land the count would parallel
