Do keep in mind that there has never been an open public audit of the gold that is supposedly stored in Ft. Knox USA. There have been many requests for this auditing over the decades by serious citizens/politicians/organizations. The government consistently refuses to do a public audit. Why??? Because the amounts of gold that are supposed to be there, are not. Its the only major government asset

Kevin. It's my firm belief that some people come into the World with a gift. Tom and several others here have that. What makes them special to me is that they don't ride on their 'Gifts'. They constantly strive to improve. Impressive to say the least...but humble at the same time. We are fortunate to be recipients of their endeavors.

Above is thread I participated in regarding the Trace function with me trying to replicate Digger's testing of CTX in regards to iron 'see-through'. See pages 3 & 4 for my Omega test results. The reason I am posting this has to do with the half dime being 9" & bolt at 5". Below is part of my Omega test:
"Digger, replicated your test. My nail looks like

I want to see this scenario replicated. Shouldn't be hard to do. After folks get their CTX's, this scenario needs to be put on video, so there will be no doubts as to it's validity.

I did bodybuilding for several years...up to competition level. However, I don't think a ergonomic nightmare like the E-Trac should be produced as it currently is. Minelab has been well aware for years of the health issues this design has caused a significant number of Trac users. Why didn't they re-design.....the word starts with 'M'.

Kevin...your a smart guy. You hit on the key hindrance to correctly performed research....the bias of .......I may be "looking for it to happen". Even the greatest reseachers suffer from this flaw, usually subconciously. Your way ahead of the game

Daniel Tn....I will have to disagree with you on the injuries perspective. Poorly designed detectors with bad ergonomics can/do cause permanent injuries. Its not always other physical activities that are causing the health issue. Most people think permanent joint/tendon/ligament injuries come from a single major trauma. That is incorrect. Most permanent injuries of this type are a result of "

I asked Dave J. (lead engineer @ Fisher/Teknetics) whether my Omega would lose any depth with an increase in discrimination. The answer was 'No'.
As Dan-PA points out, loss of depth..if any.....is machine dependent. Years ago the older machines would definitely lose depth with disc increase. Don't know if digital technology now allows this loss to be circumvented/minimized. Anyone

It seems simple to me.....more sunlight/sun spots=more electromagnetic energy=more interference. No need for in-depth analysis in my pea-brain.

Steve, strictly on a 'physical' level, I would say yes. As removal of targets is going open the ground up. But this would also be totally dependent on density of targets still existing after X-5 has done its work.

Daniel, being as experienced as you are with multiple machines.....that's quite a positive endorsement on the weight/balance issue. Like you said, the Trace function needs to be tested in-ground...but I have a feeling it will do just fine as mineralization poses little issues to the E-Trac.

Leggo, very profound statement. Now, back to detecting converstions.....please
There is a time & place for everything.
Just as I would not discuss the intricacies of a medical vaginal examination in a church or discuss theological matters during a medical procedure.
This thread/forum is about detecting....with all due respect to each members beliefs/viewpoints

I don't see why the CTX would be different than any other detector...dealers taking a little off the list price when trying to make a deal. Unless Minelab made it an absolute....a fixed selling price.

For me....it all hinges on the Trace function of the CTX. How much of an improvement is it really? Is it worth another $800.00 over a E-Trac. I just have this nagging hunch that the audio/current discrimination technology on a Trac in the hands of an accomplished operator can do pretty much the same as Trace. Not being a dedicated E-Trac user, I have to ask you guys if audio reigns supreme over v

One was able to see CTX boxes on the shelves in their native habitat.....wow......that beats a african camera safari hands down.
Tom D. and others at Dankowski's hold me spellbound with their stories......and knowledge.....and I don't have to listen to a forklift.
I have never seen the movie Shrek.......but I still see trolls on occasion.
